Calibrated Flow Rate Sensing and Flow Control Device

A fluid flow rate sensor, which may also be the basis of a valve for a fire suppression system, uses a sensing arm to convey motion of an obturation body or a valve closing member to a sensor system which evaluates the motion and generates a calibrated measure of the flow rate and/or an alarm signal in response if warranted. The obturation body and the valve closing member are capable of both rotation and translational motion, both of which are sensed using the sensing arm. The sensor system is isolated from the fluid within the valve.

Fire extinguishing system valve, in particular wet alarm valve, dry alarm valve or spray water valve and control module for the same and fire extinguishing system utilizing the same

A fire extinguishing system valve (1), in particular wet alarm valve, dry alarm valve or spray water valve, having a housing (3) which has a fluid inlet chamber (9), a fluid outlet chamber (11) and a closing body (13) which can move back and forth between a blocking state and a release state, wherein the fluid inlet chamber (9) and the fluid outlet chamber (11) communicate directly with one another in a fluid-conducting manner in the release state, and the closing body (13) prevents the direct communication between the fluid inlet chamber (9) and the fluid outlet chamber (11) in the blocking state. The housing (3) has a dedicated discharge duct (30) which has at least one inlet (30a, b) connected to the fluid outlet chamber (11) and an outlet (30c) leading out of the housing (3) of the fire extinguishing system valve (1), and which is integrated into the housing (3).

Systems and methods for fire protection of horizontal interstitial spaces with expanded localized heat detection areas

Fire protection systems and methods provide for the protection of horizontal concealed interstitial spaces of either a solid wood joist, open bar joist or open truss construction system. The systems and methods provide and locate fire protection sprinklers to define localized heat detection areas that are over 1000 sq. ft, at least 2000 sq. ft., over 2000 sq. ft. and/or otherwise unconfined by draft curtains or other barriers.

A battery arrangement for a motor vehicle, having a battery and an extinguishing agent supply device for guiding an extinguishing agent at the extinguishing agent supply device to the battery. The extinguishing agent feed device has a first connector coupling to an extinguishing agent reservoir external to the motor vehicle, a second connector connected to at least one component of the battery, and a line from the first connector to the second connector. The line includes at least one first line section which, with respect to an intended installation position of the battery arrangement in the motor vehicle, has a positive slope in relation to a horizontal and with respect to an extension direction of the line from the first connector to the second connector; and/or the extinguishing agent supply device has a closure element having an active locking mechanism which is unlockable or lockable by an associated unlocking unit.

DRY FIRE PROTECTION SPRINKLER ASSEMBLIES

An automatic dry fire protection sprinkler assembly and method of operation. The sprinkler assembly includes an elongate tubular outer housing having a fluid discharge end with an outlet opening, an internal channel and a contact surface proximate the outlet opening. A fluid deflection member is coupled to the housing at a preferably fixed distance from the outlet opening. An internal fluid control assembly includes an ejectable member that is ejected out the outlet opening and displaced out of the fluid flow ath between the housing and the fluid deflection member. Upon sprinkler actuation, the fluid control assembly engages the internal channel to axially guide the fluid control assembly and prevent rotation of the fluid control assembly about the sprinkler axis. A surface ontact between the ejectable member and the internal shelf causes the ejectable member to pivot clear of the sprinkler housing and the fluid deflection member.

Systems and methods of an integrated fluid control valve and valve actuator assembly are provided. The assembly includes a pressure operated fluid control valve for controlling the flow of liquid from a liquid supply piping system into a sprinkler piping system of a fire protection system when transitioning the fire protection system from a stand-by state to an actuated state. The control valve defines a valve chamber for holding a pressurized fluid to prevent the flow of fluid through the control valve. A valve actuator is coupled to the fluid control valve housing for setting of the fluid control valve in an unactuated ready state and for operating the fluid control valve automatically and/or manually. The assembly has a common supply port to supply fluid to the control valve and the actuator and a common discharge port connected to multiple devices that can place the system in an actuated state.
