A SYSTEM FOR PROTECTING COATED PIPES FOR ON-LAND AND SUBSEA PIPELINES AND THE METHOD FOR PROTECTING PIPES

This invention encompasses a system and a method used in the petrochemical and mechanical engineering area, more specifically in the area of protecting pipes or similarly shaped objects against external or internal damage or wear, which comprises a protective system for the ends and the inside of coated pipes, using the coating itself and other additional devices. The system is comprised of a cup (1), spacer (2), coating (3), external ring (4), and cap (5) used in the production line of the pipe-coating process, using the external coating itself, preventing corrosion and mechanical damage at the ends/bevel, in the sandblasted area of the collar and internal surface, from storage and transport to the location where it will be used, and welding in the field or on the vessel.

CORRUGATED-TUBE PROTECTIVE MEMBER

A corrugated-tube protective member includes a tubular main body configured to be arranged inside of an end part of a corrugated tube with ridge portions disposed along its longitudinal direction, a rib on an outer circumference of the main body arranged inside the corrugated tube and configured to engage with the ridge portion in a removal direction of the main body from the corrugated tube, and a stopper at an end part of the main body having an outer diameter set to be equal to or larger than that of the ridge portion and configured to be arranged to oppose an end surface of the corrugated tube. An interval between the stopper and the rib is set to be equal to or larger than an interval between engaged surfaces on the ridge portions adjacent to each other, the engaged surface being a surface configured to engage with the rib.

CORRUGATED-TUBE PROTECTIVE MEMBER

A corrugated-tube protective member includes a tubular main body configured to be arranged inside of an end part of a corrugated tube. At least one portion in a circumferential direction of the main body has a dividing portion dividing the main body in the circumferential direction. The dividing portion includes an engagement portion. The engagement portion holds a first dividing surface and a second dividing surface facing each other in circumferential direction of the main body in an engaged state. The first dividing surface includes a first top part protruding toward the second dividing surface side. The second dividing surface includes a second bottom part indented to an opposite side of the first dividing surface and configured to engage with the first top part. The engagement portion includes a locked part formed on the first top part and an elastically deformable locking part formed on the second bottom part.

Cap having a low cost construction and a self retaining feature

A cap for closing an open end of a duct tube has a cylindrical side wall having a length between a closed end and an open end of the side wall. An end wall extends across the closed end of the side wall. A conical section of the side wall extends outwardly from the open end of the side wall and has an interior surface configured to guide an end of a duct tube into a hollow interior volume of the side wall. A groove in an interior surface of the side wall is configured to receive a bead around an end of a duct tube inserted through the conical section and into the hollow interior of the side wall. A plurality of pull tabs extend outwardly from the conical section and are configured to be manually pulled, pulling the cap over the end of the duct tube.
