COATED PIPE AND PIPE COMBINATION
The invention relates to a pipe having a thermoplastic casing surface and a glass-fibre-reinforced thermo-setting coating surrounding the thermoplastic casing surface. The thermo-setting coating is formed from multiple layers of glass-fibre matting or glass-fibre fabric, or a combination of the two, wherein the layers are applied to the thermoplastic casing surface in a wet-on-wet method using a vinylester, polyester or epoxy resin. According to the invention, an outer layer of the thermo-setting coating is formed from cross-wound glass-fibre fleece or glass-fibre fabric.
Apparatus and method for lined pipe welding
A joining sleeve configured to connect internal liners of two internally lined pipe sections across a welded pipe section joint and a method of use is disclosed. The joining sleeve comprises a sleeve body having a first end and a second end, the first and second ends configured to couple with opposing ends of first and second internal liners respectively. A collar is disposed around the outer surface of the sleeve body, the collar having a first retracted condition in which it has a first outer diameter, and a second expanded condition in which it has a second outer diameter, larger than the first outer diameter.
IMPROVED METHODS FOR JOINING LINED PIPES AND ASSOCIATED APPARATUS
Methods and apparatus for making lined pipelines in which pipes are joined together by attaching fittings at their ends and joining the fittings together. Within the joint there is a fit-up sleeve which forces liners against respective fittings and provides corresponding seals. Other seals can be provided by inserting sealing rings which force different portions of the liners against different portions of the fittings. The fit-up sleeve and sealing rings may force the liners against castellations which prevent movement of the liners. The fit-up sleeve may cooperate with insertion rims on the fittings to provide very accurate spacing, or touching edges which can be desirable if automatic welding is employed. The seals provided by the fit-up sleeve also eliminate backdraughts and assist welding operations. Furthermore, the fit-up sleeve permits pigging through the pipe joint and therefore along the length of the resulting lined pipeline. It is foreseen that the need for CRA components and CRA welding can be largely if not wholly dispensed with.
Polymer-Lined Fluid Transmission Line
A polymer-lined fluid transmission line includes various structures, including a first polymer-lined pipe, a second polymer-lined pipe, and one or more sleeve retainers installed at a pipe junction between the polymer-lined pipes. Among other things, the sleeve retainers may include one or more protuberances to frictionally engage the polymer-lined pipes or a one or more portions that protrude into a space between the polymer-lined pipes to help retain and protect polymer sleeves.
Coated pipe and pipe combination
The invention relates to a pipe having a thermoplastic casing surface a glass-fibre-reinforced thermo-setting coating surrounding the thermoplastic casing surface. The thermo-setting coating is formed from multiple layers of glass-fibre matting or glass-fibre fabric, or a combination of the two, wherein the layers are applied to the thermoplastic casing surface a wet-on-wet method using a vinylester, polyester or epoxy resin. According to the invention, an outer layer of the thermo-setting coating is formed from cross-wound glass-fibre fleece or glass-fibre fabric.
Fastener assembly
A fastener assembly for connecting a fuel pipe to an engine component. The fastener assembly includes a housing and a fastener positioned within the housing. The housing has an end surface with an aperture for receiving a fuel pipe therethrough. At least one side wall extends from the end surface to define a recess for receiving a fastener therein. The fastener has a pipe inlet for receiving a fuel pipe therethrough, and a connecting arrangement for connecting the fastener to an engine component.
Integral expanded upset
An improved upset connection for use in the oilfield having an external upset integral connection improving on the existing standard connections, wherein a standard upset connection is expanded creating internal and external shoulders at both the male and female connections, and wherein the external shoulder at the female connection also has an external bevel.
Sealing device between two conduits, in particular for transporting a fluid comprising a corrosive and/or abrasive component
The invention relates to a scaling device (100) between two pipes (10, 20), each pipe comprising an internal coating (RI10, RI20) which is made from a material resistant to corrosion and/or abrasion, characterised in that the device (100) comprises at least one sealing line (L2, L2′) formed by a circumferential groove (12), which is made in the internal coating (RI10, RI20) of one of the two pipes (10, 20), receiving a circumferential protuberance (22) which is made in the internal coating (RI10, RI20) of the other of the two pipes (10, 20), the protuberance (22) being configured to mechanically interfere radially with the groove (12) over at least one circumferential zone (Z2, Z′2).
PROTECTOR WITH A FLEXIBLE GASKET FOR THE MALE OR FEMALE END OF A COMPONENT OF A THREADED TUBULAR CONNECTION
A protector for the male or female end of a threaded tubular connection for drilling or operating hydrocarbon wells, comprising a principal body, a first sealing gasket formed from a material which is less rigid than the material of the protector body and intended to make a seal with a surface of an end of the component, the principal body comprising a plurality of orifices through which the sealing gasket passes.
CONNECTION PROTECTOR WITH A FLEXIBLE GASKET FOR A TUBULAR COMPONENT
A protector for a connection for a tubular component for drilling or operating hydrocarbon wells, provided with a distal end surface, the protector comprising an annular housing comprising a bottom, two lateral walls, outer and inner, separated from each other and in which an annular gasket is disposed, each lateral wall comprising a bottom lateral wall portion and an exterior lateral wall portion and an upper face, the two exterior lateral wall portions defining an opening with width A.sub.u and characterized in that a distance A between two bottom lateral wall portions is greater than the width A.sub.u, in a manner such as to allow a first annular gasket to be positioned then to allow said annular gasket to be retained in the annular housing.
