Integrated Heating and Insulation System
Representative implementations of devices and techniques provide an exemplary protective insulation system that includes a heating element. The protective insulation system includes a substrate layer and may include a protective layer over the substrate layer. The protective insulation system is lightweight and can be installed with minimal manpower and equipment.
COMPRESSED SHEETS WITH HIGH STRETCHABILITY
A sheet of material is crumpled and flattened so that it is longitudinally compressed while remaining substantially uncompressed in the lateral direction. Once so formed, the sheet may be stretched to conform to complex three-dimensional shapes. When applied to thermally insulated piping, for example, such sheets may serve as barriers to the movement of water in the insulation system.
MULTI-LAYER EXHAUST INSULATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Exhaust insulation systems and methods are described that include multiple layers. In one example, a system includes a base insulation layer covering a portion of an exhaust pipe and a hard outer cover formed from a spirally wrapped knit tape and having a length coextensive with the length of the underlying base insulation layer. The wrapped knit tape outer cover can include successive turns of tape overlapping by 25% to 75%. The knit tape can be impregnated with a thermosetting phenolic resin prior to being wrapped about the pipe.
Vacuum adiabatic body and refrigerator
A vacuum adiabatic body according to the present invention includes a conductive resistance sheet which connects a first plate member and a second plate member to each other; a sealing frame which covers the conductive resistance sheet; a part fixing frame which is supported by the sealing frame; and a part which is mounted on the part fixing frame. According to the present invention, the power necessary for operation can be stably supplied while heat loss is prevented.

INSULATING JACKET FOR A FILTER
An insulating cover for a central heating system filter is provided in two parts. The insulating cover may be made from, for example, expanded polypropylene foam. The cover may include magnets for attracting and retaining magnetic debris within the filter. The cover may include a leadscrew arrangement to assist with removal of the cover from the filter for servicing.
FLAME-RETARDANT THERMAL INSULATION SHEET AND FLAME-RETARDANT THERMAL INSULATION MATERIAL
Provided is a flame retardant and heat insulating sheet having high flame retardancy and a high heat insulating property. Also provided is a flame retardant heat insulator including such flame retardant and heat insulating sheet. A flame retardant and heat insulating sheet according to one embodiment includes: a flame retardant and heat insulating layer formed from a resin composition (A); and a heat insulating layer, wherein the resin composition (A) contains: a binder resin; a low-melting point inorganic substance; a high-melting point inorganic substance; and voids. A flame retardant and heat insulating sheet according to one embodiment includes: a flame retardant and heat insulating layer formed from a resin composition (B); and a heat insulating layer, wherein the resin composition (B) contains: a binder resin that produces a high-melting point inorganic substance when heated; a low-melting point inorganic substance; and voids and/or a void-forming agent.
FINE FIBER INSULATION PRODUCTS WITH IMPROVED THERMAL PROPERTIES
An insulation product is disclosed comprising a plurality of glass fibers; and a cross-linked formaldehyde-free binder composition at least partially coating the glass fibers. The glass fibers have an average fiber diameter in the range of 8 HT (2.03 μm) to 15 HT (3.81 μm). At a density (x) between 0.3 pcf and 1.6 pcf, the insulation product may achieve a thermal conductivity (y) less than or equal to that which satisfies Formula (III):
y=0.116x.sup.2−0.3002x+0.4219. Formula (III):
Mineral wool product prepared with a binder containing a hydrophobic agent
A mineral wool product comprises mineral fibers bound by a binder resulting from the curing of a binder composition comprising a phenol-formaldehyde-based resin, and/or a carbohydrate containing component; a hydrophobic agent comprising (i) at least one silicone compound, such as silicone resin; (ii) at least one hardener, such as silane; (iii) optionally, at least one emulsifier; as insulation of a metallic structure, said structure having an operating temperature between 0-650° C.
