FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM FOR AVIATION VEHICLE
20210275845 · 2021-09-09 ·

A fire-suppression system includes an aviation vehicle and a fluid transport and delivery system. The fluid transport and delivery system is coupled to a vehicle frame of the aviation vehicle and is located within a cabin of the vehicle frame. The fluid transport and delivery system includes a tank having an exit aperture formed in a bottom wall of the tank, a plug aligned with the exit aperture of the tank, and a plug actuator configured to move the plug along an axis from an open position, in which the fluid stored in the tank passes around the plug and through the exit aperture, to a closed position, in which fluid is blocked from exiting through the exit aperture.

Method for improving the hit accuracy of fire-fighting systems controlled by infrared and video fire detection

A method for improving the hit accuracy of fire detection systems controlled by infrared and video fire detection by means of a first IR/video camera system for the first detection unit (D1) to ensure continuous fire detection and a second IR/video camera system for the second detection unit (D2) to ensure automatic target tracking with respect to the source of fire, as well as to an extinguisher launcher (A) rigidly connected to the second detection unit. The method is characterised by steps through which video/infrared-controlled extinguishing systems can be precisely hit with regard to the target precision, and fires can be combated as quickly as possible, even in the early phase, with as little extinguishing agent as possible.

Techniques and safety devices are described for extinguishing fires within an inventory management system. A plurality of fire extinguishing devices for a plurality of containers in an inventory management system is monitored. Upon determining that a fire condition is occurring within the inventory management system, a positional information data store is queried to determine a current position of a first container within the inventory management system. Two or more containers within the inventory management system that are in close proximity to the first container are identified and one or more wireless signals are transmitted to two or more fire extinguishing devices of the plurality of fire extinguishing devices that are contained within the two or more containers, to activate the two or more first extinguishing devices. The plurality of containers is scanned using an infrared scanning device to determine whether all fire conditions within the inventory management system are extinguished.

A fire detection device and method therefor are able to provide automatic activation so as to extinguish a fire. The fire detection can be rapid and temperature-based. In one embodiment, a heat collector can be provided to enhance thermal responsiveness. Activation of the fire detection device can be electrically induced to release an extinguishing agent at the fire. The activation can be protected such that it is durable and unaffected by vibrations.

Controlled system and methods for storage fire protection

Fire protection systems and methods for ceiling-only high-piled storage protection. The systems include a plurality of fluid distribution devices disposed beneath a ceiling and above a high-piled storage commodity having a nominal storage height ranging from a nominal 20 ft. to a maximum nominal storage height of 55 ft. and means for quenching a fire in the storage commodity. The stored commodity to be protected may include exposed expanded plastics. The fluid distribution devices include a frame body having an inlet, an outlet, a sealing assembly, and an electronically operated releasing mechanism supporting the sealing assembly in the outlet.
