20220397479 · 2022-12-15 · ·

In accordance with at least one aspect of this disclosure, a fluid system of an aircraft includes a primary fluid conduit that conveys a primary fluid, and a leak detection system disposed around at least a portion of the primary fluid conduit and forming one or more detection volumes. The leak detection system determines whether there is a primary fluid leak into the one or more detection volumes by sensing a pressure change in the one or more detection volumes.

Systems and methods for detecting hose failure

A system configured to detect failure of a hose includes a sensor assembly having a body with a first arm and a second arm pivotally coupled to one another at respective first ends, and the body is configured to move between a closed position and an open position. The sensor assembly also includes a first electrical contact positioned at a respective second end of the first arm and a second electrical contact position at a respective second end of the second arm. The first electrical contact and the second electrical contact are configured to contact one another to form a complete electrical circuit when the body is in the closed position and are configured to be separated from one another to form an open electrical circuit when the body is in the open position to facilitate detection of the failure of the hose.

A system may include a hose assembly; a sensor device; and a controller. The hose assembly may be configured to be connected to a hydraulic circuit of a machine. A first layer, of a hose of the hose assembly, may be configured to transport a hydraulic fluid. A second layer, of the hose, may comprise a tracer material that is configured to be released into the hydraulic fluid when the first layer is experiencing a failure. The sensor device may be configured to detect the tracer material in the hydraulic fluid, and generate sensor data indicating that the tracer material has been detected. The controller may be configured to determine that the hose assembly is experiencing the failure based on the sensor data and cause an action to be performed based on determining that the hose assembly is experiencing the failure.

Conduits for transporting fluids and methods of fabricating the same

A method of fabricating a conduit comprises steps of attaching a first tubular-outboard-ply end of a tubular outboard ply to a first inner collar portion of a first collar with a third weld and attaching a second tubular-outboard-ply end to a second inner collar portion of a second collar with a fifth weld. The method additionally comprises steps of interconnecting the first inner collar portion and a first outer collar portion of the first collar with a first weld and interconnecting the second inner collar portion and a second outer collar portion of the second collar with a sixth weld. The method also comprises attaching a trimmed first corrugated-inboard-ply end to the first outer collar portion with a second weld, attaching a trimmed second corrugated-inboard-ply end to the second outer collar portion with a fourth weld, and communicatively coupling a first sensor with an interstitial space.

An apparatus for collecting liquid leaks, the apparatus comprising a tub, at least one boot for sealing a pipe passing through the tub for preventing leakage of the tub from water leakage collected in the tub from either a fluid reservoir disposed above the tub or leakage dripping along the pipe.

COUPLING FOR VACUUM-INSULATED PIPING
20220373119 · 2022-11-24 ·

A coupling for connecting vacuum-insulated piping is disclosed. The coupling facilitates the detection of unwanted fluid ingress into the low pressure insulating outer portion of the vacuum-insulated piping and the detection of a leak from the central portion of the vacuum-insulated piping that is used to carry cold fluids. This is achieved by providing a first leak path from the central portion of the vacuum-insulated piping to a sensor outlet and a second leak path from the outer portion of the vacuum-insulated piping to the sensor outlet. One sensor may be used to detect unwanted fluid ingress into the low pressure insulating outer portion and also detect a leak from the central portion of the vacuum-insulated piping.

Pipe heat insulation casing and erection method

The invention relates to pipelines and equipment useful in nuclear power plants, heat power engineering, manufacturing engineering, petrochemistry, water supply, chemical and aerospace industries, and other fields. The invention relates to a pipe heat insulation casing consisted of metal elements and assembly method ensuring reliable electrical insulation of all elements. The connection of the metal elements is with lapping, the elements are with openings in the lapping area where the electrically-insulating spacers are set made of resilient, elastic-plastic, plastic, fully viscous or partially solidified material ensuring electrical insulation between the adjacent elements. The electrically-insulating spacers are applied to the lapping areas of the metal elements to fill the openings of the lapping areas thus arranging reliable pin connections between the spacer and adjacent casing elements. Multiple pin connections ensure fixation of the adjacent metal elements without any failure to electrical insulation of each other.

A coupling for use with comestible products having a first body with a first flow path extending therethrough and a second body with a second flow path extending therethrough. The first and second bodies are configured for coupling together such that the first and second flow paths form a continuous flow path through the coupling. The coupling further comprises a first valve member actuable between an open position, wherein product can pass through the first flow path, and a closed position, wherein the passage of product through the first flow path is prevented, and a first biasing member for biasing the first valve member into the closed position. The coupling is configured such that, if the first and second bodies become decoupled from one another, the first valve member is moved into the closed position. The first biasing member is isolated from the flow path passing through the coupling.
