A system and method of predicting impending failure of a pressure vessel include a pressure vessel, a fluid source, a line coupled to the pressure vessel and to the fluid source, an apparatus, a sensor and a controller. The apparatus includes a conduit and a containment structure. The containment structure includes a cavity separated from an interior of the conduit by a portion of a conduit wall of the conduit. The sensor is configured to determine a value of a physical property in the cavity. The controller is in signal communication with the sensor and configured to detect a change in the value. The method includes determining a first value of a physical property in the cavity, experiencing a failure of the conduit wall, determining a second value of the physical property in the cavity, and detecting a difference between the first and second values.

LEAK DETECTION BACKBONE AND FLOW BARRIERS

A system and method of detecting a disturbance of a buried structure, for example an intrusion or a leak from a pipeline. Sensing devices at discrete locations connect with a backbone cable extending along a length of the pipeline. In the event of a leak, the signal from a sensing device is received at an output, via the backbone cable, providing notification of the leak and the location of the leak.

System and method utilizing a light transfer protocol for sensor monitoring hose assembly degradation

A system and method utilizing a light transfer protocol for a sensor that monitors hose assembly degradation is disclosed. The system includes a sensor having one or more first alignment features, a contactless switch, and a light transmitter configured to transmit a light transfer protocol. The light transfer protocol is a sensor unique identification code recognizable by a gateway device that automatically pairs the sensor to the gateway device.

A fracturing system is provided. In one embodiment, the fracturing system includes a fracturing manifold for routing fracturing fluid to multiple wells. The fracturing manifold can be coupled via fluid conduits to fracturing trees installed at the wells. In some cases, each fracturing tree that is coupled to the fracturing manifold is coupled by at least one rigid fluid conduit. The fracturing manifold can include a trunk line that provides fracturing fluid to multiple outlet branches, which can include valves for controlling flow of fracturing fluid to wells downstream of the valves. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

The invention concerns a pipe joint formed between a pin section (10) and a box section (20); the pin and box sections each having a tubular pipe section, engaging at respective first ends in end-to-end arrangement and having a seal element partially therebetween, the box section including a collar extending from the first end, the collar being generally cylindrical, axially aligned with the tubular box pipe section and having an inner diameter of the same size as the outer diameter of the pin section, enabling the collar to be placed about the pin section, the pin and the box sections being secured together by means of a plurality of securing means housed in the collar and actuable to exert radial pressure to urge the pin and box into sealing arrangement, the collar (22) of the box section (20) including a test port, comprising a housing atrium, defined by an atrium wall, housing a test plug (60); the housing atrium (61) and the seal element (53) being fluidly linked by a box conduit; the plug comprising a plug body and a plug seal housed between the plug body and the housing atrium wall to seal the housing atrium from atmosphere and having therethrough a plug conduit connectable at a first end to a pressure test apparatus and fluidly linkable at a second end to the box conduit; the plug being moveable between a first position forming a fluid link between the plug conduit and the box conduit, and a second position closing the fluid link.

SHROUDED PIPE

A method of manufacturing a shrouded pipe comprising an inner pipe section for providing a primary fluid path and an outer pipe section for enclosing the inner pipe section to provide a secondary fluid path. The method includes opening the outer pipe section by separating first and second longitudinal edges which split the outer pipe section along a longitudinal line, assembling the outer pipe section with the inner pipe section by passing the inner pipe section between the separated first and second longitudinal edges, and closing the outer pipe section by bringing the first and second longitudinal edges together and joining the first and second longitudinal edges together. An advantage of this method is that close manufacturing tolerances can be achieved without a complex or difficult assembly process.

Rotatable joint
