The present invention relates to a grease replacement method of replacing grease in a case (84) including a sealable gear chamber (31, 36) accommodating a gear (85) as a member to be lubricated, a grease injection port (61, 62) configured to inject grease into the gear chamber (31, 36), and a discharge port (32, 37) configured to discharge the grease in the gear chamber (31, 36), and a grease suction device to be used to perform this method. The grease replacement method includes a suction step (S2) of sucking the grease in the gear chamber (31, 36) from the grease injection port (61, 62) with the discharge port (32, 37) being open, and discharging the grease outside the case (84), and an injection step (S4) of injecting new grease into the grease injection port (61, 62) and supplying the new grease to the gear (85). This facilitates discharging of old grease.
TIRE BEAD LUBRICATING SYSTEM
A tire bead lubricating system for applying lubricant to a tire consists of a frame supporting conveyor belts which form a conveyor opening therebetween. The conveyor belts transfer a tire from one end of the frame to another. A lubricating wick chamber is maintained within the frame and positioned underneath the conveyor opening. A lubricating wick assembly is received in the lubricating wick chamber and moves into the conveyor opening. The lubricating wick assembly has at least one engagement roller and at least one elongate brush that carries lubricant applied to the tire.
Vertical bearing device
When an annular portion of a thrust collar rotates together with a rotating shaft member, centrifugal force and shear force, or differential pressure caused by difference in flow rate are generated in lubricating oil in a circulation oil chamber. With this, the lubricating oil in the circulation oil chamber is guided from the inner peripheral side to the outer peripheral side of the annular portion, through a circulation hole penetrating the annular portion. The flow of lubricating oil guided by the circulation hole forms a flow of lubricating oil from a lower oil chamber to an upper oil chamber through the circulation oil chamber. As a result, the lubricating oil stored in the lower oil chamber is circulated to the upper oil chamber through the circulation oil chamber, by rotation of the thrust collar.

The system also includes a lubricant source in lubricant providing communication with the lubricant pump. Additionally, the system includes a lubricant flow regulation device in lubricant receiving communication with the lubricated component and lubricant providing communication with the lubricant source. The lubricant flow regulation device is configured to drain lubricant from the lubricated component to the lubricant source based on when the lubricant pump provides lubricant to the lubricated component, and to prevent drainage of lubricant from the lubricated component to the lubricant source based on when the lubricant pump stops providing lubricant to the lubricated component.
