FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM
A remote-controlled powder fire extinguishing system includes a robotic mobile unit including a powder storage unit, a powder fluidization system, and a powder distribution system, the mobile unit being configured to distribute a fluidized powder onto a location affected by a fire, a remote control center, operable outside of the location affected by the fire, including a controller programmed to remotely communicate with and control the mobile unit, the powder storage unit, the powder fluidization system, and the powder distribution system, and a device configured to provide wireless connection between the mobile unit and the remote control center.
Fire Extinguishing Chimney Bomb and Method
A fire extinguishing chimney bomb is disclosed herein. The device may include a flexible plastic receptacle and a fire extinguishing payload contained therein. The device is dropped down from the top of the chimney into the base of the fire. As the device enters the fire, heat from the fire melts the plastic, thereby releasing the extinguisher agent, which smothers the fuel and extinguishes the fire.
Fire fighting apparatus and method
Apparatus and method for firefighting includes a containerless core of a fire retardant material, compressed to form a prolate spheroid shape. A shaft with fins and a carrying hook can extend from the core tail. The core can have a core charge of an explosive material within the core channel. An altimeter sensor coupled to the core charge and a triggering mechanism is coupled between the altimeter sensor and the core charge, and causes the triggering mechanism to detonate the core charge when the apparatus reaches an altitude. A delivery apparatus is included with a frame having carry harness, and at least one holding hook on the frame coupled to the carrying hook. The carry harness supports delivery apparatus in transport. Powders of calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, ammonium sulfate, diammonium sulfate, diammonium phosphate, ammonium polyphosphate, or monoammonium phosphate can be intermixed as fire retardant, along with indigenous plant seed.
FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A fire suppression system includes a transport refrigeration unit configured to cool a transport container. Also included is a tubular container having a fire suppressant stored therein, the tubular container disposed within the transport refrigeration unit. Further included is a predetermined fracture location of the tubular container, wherein the predetermined fracture location is configured to rupture upon reaching a critical temperature to expel the fire suppressant.
Impact resistant battery enclosure systems
Battery enclosure arrangements for a vehicular battery system. The arrangements, capable of impact resistance include plurality of battery cells and a plurality of kinetic energy absorbing elements. The arrangements further include a frame configured to encase the plurality of the kinetic energy absorbing elements and the battery cells. In some arrangements the frame and/or the kinetic energy absorbing elements can be made of topologically interlocked materials.
METHOD TO MITIGATE THE CONSEQUENCES OF AN UNCONFINED OR PARTIALLY CONFINED VAPOR CLOUD EXPLOSION
The present invention concerns a method to mitigate the consequences of an unconfined or partially confined vapor cloud explosion due to the accidental release of a flammable gas in an open area, wherein: means capable to release a flame acceleration suppression product are dispersed in said area, a signal is generated by a detector of said flammable gas release, or by an operator, or by an approaching flame or by the explosion itself, or by any combination thereof, said signal activates the release of the flame acceleration suppression product in said area and in a sufficient amount to transform the flammable cloud into a mixture of flammable product, air and said flame acceleration suppression product to prevent flame accelerations in an unconfined vapor cloud explosion but to let the flammable product burn in case of ignition.
In a specific embodiment the release of the flame acceleration suppression product is made by a signal generated by a detector of said flammable gas release or by an operator and before ignition or beginning of an explosion.
STOP FIRE
Apparatus and method for disposing of hot coals, e.g. charcoal briquettes after barbecuing or coals from a campfire. Sand and rain water are provided in a double-chamber device to cool it below ignition temperature. By strategically deploying the apparatus in campgrounds and forest preserves, park rangers may provide campers and hikers with a more effective tool for ensuring the fire is fully extinguished. Sand and rain water are provided in a double-chamber device to cool it below ignition temperature.
FIRE EXTINGUISHING AGENT CONCENTRATION MEASURING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF MEASURING A FIRE EXTINGUISHING AGENT WITHIN AN ENVIRONMENT
A fire extinguishing agent concentration measuring system having a first window, a second window positioned relative to the first window thereby defining a sensing volume between the first window and the second window, and a structure positioned relative to the first window and the second window configured to cause fluid flowing into the sensing volume from an environment within which the fire extinguishing agent concentration measuring system is placed to swirl within the sensing volume.
Device and process for thermal isolation of technical elements
Process for fire resistant protection of the technical elements of a building by means of one or more prefabricated isolation blocks, enabling pre-isolation of a vacant space in the structure of a building. The block comprises an easily modelled fire resistant material and is disposed before pouring the concrete of the structure of the building. The prefabricated block is then opened up in such a manner as to install the technical elements having to be protected from fire.
VARIABLE FLOW SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
A fire suppression system includes a delivery system that is configured to receive fire suppressant agent from a reservoir and provide the fire suppressant agent to an area at a flow rate, according to some embodiments. In some embodiments, the delivery system is further configured to provide a first quantity of fire suppressant agent to an area at a first flow rate during a first time interval. In some embodiments, the delivery system is further configured to provide a second quantity of fire suppressant agent to the area at a second flow rate during a second time interval. In some embodiments, the second flow rate is less than the first flow rate. In some embodiments, the first and the second quantity of fire suppressant agent are provided to the area via a nozzle.
