An apparatus is disclosed for extinguishing a stovetop fire over a stovetop having a first burner, the apparatus including a container detachably mountable to a microwave positioned above the stove top. A supply of fire suppressant material is retained within the container. A heat responsive actuator is disposed on the container. When the container is mounted to the microwave over the first burner, and the fire actuates the heat responsive actuator, at least a portion of the supply of fire suppressant material falls from the container toward the first burner.

AGITATORS, STORAGE VESSEL ASSEMBLIES, AND METHODS OF AGITATING DRY PARTICULATES WITHIN STORAGE VESSEL ASSEMBLIES

An agitator for disposition within a cavity of a vessel body containing a particulate includes a weighted portion and a stirring portion. The agitator is positioned and disposed relative to the vessel body to move the stirring portion through the particulate in response to movement of the weighted portion in response to gravitational and/or inertial forces acting on the weighted portion due to movement of the vessel body. Particulate storage vessel arrangements and methods of particulate mixing are also described.

Fire Extinguishing System for Tire of Vehicle
20210069534 · 2021-03-11 ·

A fire extinguishing system is provided for a tire of a vehicle. The fire extinguishing system includes fire extinguishing injectors filled with fire extinguishing chemicals and installed in the vehicle to be able to inject the fire extinguishing chemical to the tire. A fire detection line is installed to connect between the fire extinguishing injectors. Each of the fire extinguishing injectors is configured to inject the fire extinguishing chemical when a fire of the tire is detected through the fire detection line.

An energy storage module includes: a plurality of battery cells arranged in a length direction, each of the battery cells including a vent; a plurality of insulation spacers, at least one of the insulation spacers being located between long side surfaces of an adjacent pair of the battery cells; a cover member; a top plate coupled to a top portion of the cover member and including ducts respectively corresponding to the vents of the battery cells and including opening holes respectively corresponding to the insulation spacers; a top cover coupled to a top portion of the top plate and including discharge holes located in an exhaust area and respectively corresponding to the ducts; and an extinguisher sheet located between the top cover and the top plate, configured to emit a fire extinguishing agent at a temperature exceeding a certain temperature and including opening holes located to correspond to the ducts.

ENERGY STORAGE MODULE

An energy storage module includes: a plurality of battery cells arranged in a length direction; a plurality of insulation spacers; a cover member including an internal receiving space; a top plate coupled to a top of the cover member, the top plate including ducts respectively corresponding to vents of the battery cells and having opening holes respectively corresponding to the insulation spacers; a top cover coupled to a top of the top plate and having discharge holes respectively corresponding to the ducts; and an extinguisher sheet between the top cover and the top plate, the extinguisher sheet being configured to emit a fire extinguishing agent at a temperature exceeding a reference temperature, the top cover including protrusion parts on a bottom surface thereof, the protrusion parts covering an exhaust region and being coupled to an exterior of each of the ducts.

APPARATUS FOR MIXING AND APPLYING PARTICULATE MATTER AND FOAM
20200391062 · 2020-12-17 · ·

In an apparatus for applying rock dust with foam to a mine wall to suppress mine fires and prevent explosions, foam and air-entrained rock dust are separately conveyed to a combination nozzle and mixing device. The air-entrained rock dust moves axially through a passage into an enlarged chamber while foam moves through an array of openings surrounding the passage that direct the foam in a helical path. The helical movement of the foam, and the reduction of the velocity of the air-entrained rock dust resulting from its movement into the enlarged chamber, enhance mixing. The mixture passes from the enlarged chamber through a restricted nozzle to increase the velocity of the mixture for effective spraying. The restricted nozzle has an array of internal flow-interrupting baffles that further promote mixing by generating turbulence, condense the stream, and shape the spray pattern.

Wet-dry fire extinguishing agent

Fire extinguishing systems and methods, such as for combating compartment fires, can include or use wet and dry agents such as water droplets and aerosol-based particulate extinguisher agents. In an example, an extinguishing system includes a centralized extinguishing controller that can selectively provide the wet and dry agents to a compartment or environment. In other examples, dedicated dispenser systems separately, but optionally concurrently, provide water and aerosol-based agents to combat a compartment fire.

Fire fighting system

A mobile firefighting system includes a water cannon enabled for spraying slush on or near a fire. The slush includes solid material (e.g., ice, solid fire retardant) that is projected farther than a liquid could be projected using high pressure. The slush has enhanced fire suppression and fire protection characteristics compared to a liquid. Multiple tanks add enhanced slush chilling capability (e.g., through sequenced chilling) and provide redundant backup systems. A mobile cannon includes multiple reducing nozzles that can be aimed by a rotating base and hydraulic cylinder (for raising and lowering). Continuous tracks and winches contribute to all-terrain capabilities.
