Terminating expansion of underground coal fires and protecting the environment
Method and apparatus for environment protection (climate change) from toxic elements and subsidence by existing underground coal seam fires by expansion termination of these fires. The method is based on creating, on the path of or around a burning coal seam fire, a subterranean void-barrier, with non-combustible gases (or fluids) and absence of oxidiser. The void-barrier may be substantially free from combustible material. The void-barrier will prevent further expansion of the existing coal seam fire, and may be created by known methods of coal extraction in gasified form, such as Underground Coal Gasification (USG). By-products from void-barrier creation can be utilized to reduce environmental pollution and for production of useful commercial entities such as gas or liquid fuels like: petrol, diesel, jet fuel, avgas, paraffin or electrical power generation and/or chemicals like CO.sub.2 for enrichment of coal or which may be sold.
Oxygen-Reducing Installation And Method For Operating An Oxygen-Reducing Installation
An oxygen-reducing installation and method include a compressed gas storage having a container for storing a compressed gas, which can be an oxygen-reduced gas mixture or an inert gas, and having a fluid connection to an enclosed area via a line system to feed at least a portion of the compressed gas to the enclosed area. A gas separation system provides an oxygen-reduced gas mixture and includes an outlet for delivery of the oxygen-reduced gas mixture produced in the gas separation system to the compressed gas storage and/or to the enclosed area as required.
FIRE SUPPRESSION DEVICE
The system of the present invention is comprised of the following: a fire extinguisher; solenoid adapted to release said extinguisher; a flexible conduit adapted to direct the contents of the extinguisher to the stove; a linear heat detector for sensing fire; a disconnecting box adapted to disconnect the cooking gas or electricity from stove at the event of fire; a second CO2 gas or equivalent gas container that is connected to the disconnecting box; another solenoid adapted to release said gas container; more conduits connected to each of the burners in the stove. In this configuration, fire suppression, and gas cutoff are effected simultaneously. Additionally to the above mentioned effects, the system further simultaneously injects CO2 or similar extinguishing gas instead of natural gas straight to the burner itself suffocating the fire at the source.

Stop fire
Apparatus and method for disposing of hot coals, e.g. charcoal briquettes after barbecuing or coals from a campfire. Sand and rain water are provided in a double-chamber device to cool it below ignition temperature. By strategically deploying the apparatus in campgrounds and forest preserves, park rangers may provide campers and hikers with a more effective tool for ensuring the fire is fully extinguished. Sand and rain water are provided in a double-chamber device to cool it below ignition temperature.
BATTERY CHARGING CABINET
The present device provides a storage cabinet for safely housing multiple rechargeable chemical batteries, comprising a fire-proof outer housing that defines an interior chamber; within the chamber, one or more battery storage compartments are arranged such that an insulating air-gap separates each compartment from every adjacent compartment; each battery compartment includes a closable access door that forms an air-tight seal; an ignition source is disposed within the interior chamber to deliberately ignite any combustible gas generated by a battery thermal event; and a ventilation system, having an inlet port for introducing ambient air into the interior chamber and an exhaust port leading to an external exhaust conduit and vent which is manages airflow and aids in controlled combustion and heat dissipation.
