Lubricant deterioration detection device and lubricant deterioration state evaluation method
A lubricant deterioration detection device of the present invention includes a gas sensor that selectively detects a carbonyl compound. The gas sensor is configured to detect the carbonyl compound from at least one of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, propanal, butanal, pentanal, n-hexanal, n-heptanal, formic acid, and acetic acid. The detection deterioration device further includes an oil removal portion that removes an oil mist generated from the lubricant.
AUTOMOTIVE SENSOR WITH SERVICE COMPONENT AUTHENTICITY DETECTION
Systems and methods for determining, using service component authenticity detection contained in a sensor module, whether an authorized or genuine service component element is installed in an automotive system are described. The authorized service component determination may be based on close-range communication technology such as radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. An antenna in the sensor module may read the tag information from installed service component elements in a nearby service component and send any detected information into a filtration monitoring system. The filtration monitoring system or a remote diagnostic system analyzes the returned data (or absence thereof) to determine if a genuine (i.e., authorized, OEM approved, etc.) service component element is installed or not.
Detecting and predicting mechanical failure due to lubrication loss in machines and movable components
Detecting the occurrence of loss of effective lubrication in high-speed machinery components is provided. The imminent catastrophic failure may be predicted when torque or power transfer is lost. An estimate of when failure will likely occur throughout the operation of the machinery may be determined as well as the damage state after the liquid lubrication supply has ended or becomes inadequate to lubricate the machinery components effectively. By monitoring the concentration of gas species and the rate of change in concentration of the gas in the gearbox or machinery enclosure after the supply of the primary lubricant ends, determinations may be made about the time to failure and the damage state. The determinations may be based on thermomechanical and chemical processes, on measurement of a baseline system, or by setting a threshold of expected change in gas concentration. These determinations may be transmitted for further decision making and response.
Data collection from auxiliary controller area network devices
Systems and methods are provided for enabling communication, without breaching the engine firewall, between a datalogger located on one side of the firewall and one or more sensor devices that are located on the opposite side of the firewall. The systems and methods described herein can allow a transmitting node (i.e., a transmitting datalogger) to transmit collected data (from an auxiliary sensor) to a receiving node (i.e., a receiving datalogger) while reducing or minimizing various difficulties associated with addition of an auxiliary sensor in the engine environment. The transmission of data from the transmitting node to the receiving node can correspond to wired data communication or wireless data communication.
OIL STATE DETECTION DEVICE, WORK MACHINE, MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, AND OIL STATE DETECTION METHOD
An oil state detection device includes an index member, a lighting device that illuminates the index member, and a photographing device that photographs the index member through oil in a machine device.
Pump provided with a reservoir of a lubricant
A pump with a reservoir of a lubricant, including a hollow body in which a piston, loaded by a pressing element, sealingly slides, at least a port for loading the lubricant in a compartment defined by the inner wall of the hollow body and by the piston, and at least a valve for exhausting air trapped in the compartment together with the lubricant during a loading step.
Method for determining a degree of loading of a filter
A method for determining a degree of loading on a filter medium of a filter device on a vehicle through which a fluid flows includes determining an operating characteristic of the filter device based on at least one operating quantity of the vehicle and comparing a predefined reference characteristic of the filter device with the operating characteristic. The degree of loading is derived from a result of the comparing step.
Optical operating fluid detector for the optical detection of operating fluid for a hand-guided garden, forestry and/or construction machining appliance, and hand-guided garden, forestry and/or construction machining appliance
An optical operating fluid detector for optical detection of operating fluid for a hand-guided garden, forestry and/or construction machining appliance includes a light source, an operating fluid line and a light receiver. The light source is designed for radiation of rays of light. The operating fluid line is designed for optical interaction of rays of light from the light source with operating fluid in line for the optical detection of operating fluid. The light receiver is designed for differing reception of rays of light from the line in dependence on the presence or the absence of operating fluid in the line. The operating fluid detector has an optical deflecting device. The deflecting device is designed for deflection of rays of light from the light source to the operating fluid line and/or for deflection of rays of light from the line to the light receiver. The operating fluid line is designed for differing diversion of rays of light from the light source in dependence on the presence or the absence of operating fluid in the line for optical detection of operating fluid.
INDUSTRIAL MACHINE INCLUDING A FLUID SENSOR AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME
An industrial machine including a sensor and a controller. The sensor is configured to sense a characteristic of a fluid of the industrial machine. Wherein the characteristic is indicative of a contaminant level. The controller has an electronic processor and a memory. The controller is configured to receive a signal from the sensor indicative of the contaminant level, compare the contaminant level to a threshold, and upon the contaminant level crossing the threshold perform at least one selected from a group consisting of output an alert, and commence a shutdown procedure of the industrial machine.
