Low pressure drop advanced swirl technology gas filter

A media-free filter device for a supercritical fluid process is disclosed. The media-free filter device includes a first pipe section connected in flow communication with a closed-loop system for a supercritical fluid. A y-pipe segment intersects the first pipe section at an intersection joint. The intersection joint intersects at a descending obtuse angle with respect to the first pipe section flow direction. The y-pipe segment is open at the intersection joint and closed opposite the intersection joint, in flow communication with the first pipe section. The y-pipe section induces an eddy current turbulence zone adjacent the intersection joint to remove substantially all contaminants suspended in the supercritical fluid; and the contaminants are deposited in the descending y-pipe segment. An SCO2 process incorporating the media-free filter device is also disclosed.

Cleaning device for condensate removal device

A cleaning device for cleaning an orifice in a condensate removal device that is capable of use while the condensate removal device is on-line, i.e. during operation. In one aspect, the cleaning device provides a reciprocally movable cleaning rod that can be retractably insertable into the orifice. This can be done without affecting the sealed volume defined around the orifice. In another aspect, the cleaning device includes a retractable hood or shield over the cleaning rod, to protect when not inserted in the orifice.

A steam trap includes a body having a flow passageway therethrough between an inlet connectable to a steam pipeline and an outlet connectable to a condensate drain line. The flow passageway has a first flow restriction defined by a first venturi orifice to pass condensate therethrough while restricting the flow of live steam, and a second flow restriction, downstream of the first flow restriction. The second flow restriction is adapted to allow condensate flow therethrough while restricting the flow of flash steam.
