FREEZE PROTECTED CONDENSATE SYSTEM

A condensate trap for a furnace system includes a trap inlet configured to receive combusted gases, a condensate chamber coupled to the trap inlet and configured to trap condensate, a trap outlet coupled to the condensate chamber and configured to exhaust the combusted gases, a header box inlet configured to receive condensate from a header box, and a condensate outlet configured to drain condensate from the condensate chamber. Combusted gas that passes through the condensate trap provides heat to condensate within the condensate trap to thaw frozen condensate or to prevent condensate from freezing.

Cleaning device for condensate removal device

A cleaning device for cleaning an orifice in a condensate removal device that is capable of use while the condensate removal device is on-line, i.e. during operation. In one aspect, the cleaning device provides a reciprocally movable cleaning rod that can be retractably insertable into the orifice. This can be done without affecting the sealed volume defined around the orifice. In another aspect, the cleaning device includes a retractable hood or shield over the cleaning rod, to protect when not inserted in the orifice.

A PUMPING AND TRAPPING DEVICE

A pumping and trapping device is provided. The pumping and trapping device removes condensate from a heat exchanger even when upstream pressure in the device is lesser than the downstream pressure. The device includes a float operated mechanical linkage. The float is displaceable with respect to condensate level within a vessel of the device. The mechanical linkage is configured to selectively operate a steam inlet port and a steam outlet port configured on the vessel, thereby removing condensate accumulated within the vessel.
