Hydrostatically Compensated Compressed Gas Energy Storage System
A compressed gas energy storage system may include an accumulator for containing a layer of compressed gas atop a layer of liquid. A gas conduit may have an upper end in communication with a gas compressor/expander subsystem and a lower end in communication with accumulator interior for conveying compressed gas into the compressed gas layer of the accumulator when in use. A shaft may have an interior for containing a quantity of a liquid and may be fluidly connectable to a liquid source/sink via a liquid supply conduit. A partition may cover may separate the accumulator interior from the shaft interior. An internal accumulator force may act on the inner surface of the partition and the liquid within the shaft may exert an external counter force on the outer surface of the partition, whereby a net force acting on the partition is less than the accumulator force.
LINER COLLAPSE MITIGATIONS FOR TYPE IV CONFORMABLE PRESSURE VESSELS
A type IV pressure vessel has improved permeate gas management. The pressure vessel comprises an inner polymeric liner, a breather layer disposed on the liner, and an outer composite shell structure disposed on the breather layer. The breather layer is gas permeable, impermeable to liquids, and provides a flow passageway for gas permeating through the liner wall collected by the breather layer. The outer composite shell is formed by one or more layers of fiber of a first fiber type and resin. Gas permeating from an interior space of the liner is received by the breather layer and directed to a predetermined exit location on the pressure vessel.
Vent pipe isolation balloon for liquefied gas storage tank and vent pipe isolation device
An object to provide a vent pipe isolation balloon for a liquefied gas storage tank, which has excellent physical strength, inflatability, and durability at cryogenic temperatures, and a vent pipe isolation device including the balloon. The vent pipe isolation balloon has inner and outer membranes made of silicon rubber, and a reinforcing substrate sandwiched between the inner membrane and the outer membrane. The balloon has an outer shape of a cylindrical shape or a truncated cone shape with both ends opened, and is inflated when an inert gas is injected into the balloon with the openings sealed. The reinforcing substrate is composed of a fiber bundle and has a network structure.

CLOSURE FOR VESSEL OR PIPELINE
An improved closure assembly for a pressure vessel or pipeline is described, where the closure assembly includes a davit assembly pivotally connecting a closure door to a closure hub where the closure door threadably attaches to the closure hub. The closure door is also threadably attached to the davit assembly where the threaded attachment between with the davit assembly is synchronized or timed with the threaded attachment between the closure door and the closure hub.

SMALL MOLECULE GAS STORAGE ADAPTER
Various embodiments are generally directed to a casing connected to a top cap structure that consists of an adapter flange extending to an adapter barrel that is configured to fit wholly within the casing. The adapter barrel can be separated from the casing by an annulus that is filled to a predetermined annulus pressure while an internal chamber defined by the adapter barrel contains a gas having a small molecular size at a storage pressure that is greater than the predetermined annulus pressure.

Tube array type nitrogen canister
A tube-array-type liquid nitrogen container includes a container body having a mouth; a tube array component received in the container body; and a top cap sealing the mouth from above. The top cap is rotatable in the mouth. The tube array component is composed of a plurality of holding tubes. The holding tube is opened at one end thereof, wherein the opening thereof faces the top cap. The top cap has at least one tube access passing therethrough. Each tube access is atop covered by a tube access cover. The tube-array-type liquid nitrogen container uses a tube-array component composed of the a plurality of holding tubes to store the freezing tubes, and is cooperated with the rotatable top cap and an external robotic arm, thereby improving space utilization and thermal insulation, effectively ensuring safety of the freezing tubes, and facilitating automatic storage of freezing tubes.
