Integrated pipeline protection system
The pipeline protection system includes a plurality of modules and a central control unit. The modules are adapted to be disposed circumferentially around the pipeline and capable of communicating to each other and with the central control unit to generate a plurality of real time data related to the pipeline. The modules are retrofittable configuration that includes sub-modules. Each sub-module includes top and bottom protective casings, and at least one flexible composite layer disposed between the top and bottom protective casings. The flexible composite layer includes an electronic circuitry embedded thereon, and a plurality of sensors coupled to the electronic circuitry to monitor a plurality of parameters associated with the pipeline. The plurality of sensors is configured to generate various real time data, such as pipeline leakage, predict future leakage or failure, and detect any attempt to theft or tempering in the pipeline.
Processing-liquid supply apparatus and processing-liquid supply method
A processing-liquid supply apparatus includes a source, a discharge device, a supply channel connecting the source and discharge device, a filter device positioned in the channel to form first side having the source and second side having the discharge device, a pump device positioned in the channel, and a control device which controls suction and discharge by the pump device. The control device controls the pump device such that the liquid is discharged from the discharge device, that remaining of the liquid on the second side is suctioned to be returned to the first side and that the remaining of the liquid returned to the first side flows from the first toward second side together with refill of the liquid from the source, and the control device is set such that return amount of the liquid to the filter device is equal to or greater than amount of the discharge.
Pistonless Subsea Pump
A method for boosting a multiphase fluid is provided. The method may include separating the multiphase fluid into a liquid phase and a gaseous phase in a separator, compressing the gaseous phase in a compressor, and discharging the compressed gaseous phase from the compressor to the discharge line. The method may also include draining the liquid phase from the separator to a liquid reservoir, passively actuating an inlet control valve to flow the liquid phase from the liquid reservoir to a liquid tank, and actively actuating an inlet actuation valve to flow a motive gas from the compressor to the liquid tank to thereby pressurize the liquid phase contained therein. The method may further include passively actuating an outlet control valve to discharge the pressurized liquid phase from the liquid tank to the discharge line, and combining the compressed gaseous phase with the pressurized liquid phase in the discharge line.

Controlling flow of black powder in hydrocarbon pipelines
Black powder flowing with hydrocarbons in a hydrocarbon pipeline is converted into a magnetorheological slurry by implementing wet scrubbing in the hydrocarbon pipeline. A flow of the magnetorheological slurry through the hydrocarbon pipeline is controlled.
