REAL TIME INTEGRITY MONITORING OF ON-SHORE PIPES
A method includes providing a length of pipeline that has a housing defining a central bore extending the length of the pipe and a space formed within the housing and extending the length of the pipe. At least one condition within the space is continuously monitored within the space to detect in real time if a change in the housing occurs.
HYDROGEN TRANSPORT, DISTRIBUTION AND STORAGE SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS
A system uses existing pipelines, e.g., natural gas, oil, etc., to transport hydrogen to one or more distribution points. The disclosed hydrogen distribution system enables use of water, sewer, storm drain and other existing pipelines for local distribution. Hydrogen is produced from an energy source at a producing location. A safety pipe is located inside an existing pipeline configured to carry a first product and a hydrogen delivery line, configured to carry hydrogen, is placed inside the safety pipe such that a channel is formed between an exterior of the hydrogen delivery line and an interior of the safety pipe. Hydrogen is injected into the hydrogen delivery line and a sweeper gas is injected into the channel to purge any hydrogen that might be leaking from the hydrogen delivery line.
Efficient method for localizing leaks in water supply pipe network based on valve operations and online water metering
The present disclosure belongs to the field of municipal engineering and urban water supply network, and provides an efficient method for localizing leaks in a districted metering area (DMA) of water supply pipe networks based on valve operations and online water metering, which is implemented in multiple stages to gradually reduce the leaking area. At each stage, the DMA is firstly decomposed into two sub-areas using an optimized valve operation strategy determined by a minimized objective function, wherein a graph theory-based method is used for the solution. Then the sub-areas containing leaks are identified through online water balance analysis based on smart demand meters, thereby reducing the leaking area. The minimum leaking area is identified with the least number of valve operations. Compared with the traditional methods, the method of the present disclosure can obviously improve the efficiency and accuracy of leak localization and is easy to implement.
Apparatus, system, and method for determining a location
A method is disclosed. The method includes providing a sensor attached to a vehicle, controlling the vehicle to move toward a system, using the sensor to sense data, providing the sensed data to a detection module including computer-executable code stored in non-volatile memory, and controlling the sensor and the vehicle to perform a raster scan when the detection module detects a variation in the sensed data. The method also includes providing sensed raster scan data to the detection module, using the detection module to generate a plurality of probability distribution curves based on the sensed raster scan data, and using the detection module to generate a vector based on the plurality of probability distribution curves. The vector points to a location of the system.
