An equipment safety management device for managing safety of equipment capable of holding fluid is provided. The equipment safety management device includes: a safety means configured to be in fluid communication with an outlet of the equipment, the safety means being brought into a released state when pressure of the equipment reaches a previously set pressure, the safety means delivering the fluid to a flare pipe, which is fluidly communicated; and, as the flare pipe, at least one first flare pipe allowing a low-temperature fluid to flow therethrough and at least one second flare pipe allowing an aqueous fluid to flow therethrough. The safety means can deliver the fluid to both the first flare pipe and the second flare pipe.
Remote manifold valve and pump pairing technique for a multi-pump system
A technique for remote pairing of pumps and manifold valves at an oilfield. The technique takes advantage of a control unit having remote capability of opening and closing manifold valves. The control unit may also be in simultaneous communication with an individual sensor for each pump. Thus, unique protocols of valve opening and closing at the manifold in conjunction with monitoring of fluid-based detections by the unit may be used to establish pairing between specific pumps and manifold valves. Similarly, the system may also be inspected for leaks at particular locations through unique valve opening and closing sequences in conjunction with fluid monitoring.

POSITION ESTIMATION DEVICE, POSITION ESTIMATION SYSTEM, POSITION ESTIMATION METHOD, AND COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM
Provided is a position estimation device and the like which accurately estimate an occurrence position of a pressure wave. The position estimation device is provided with: a first cross-correlation derivation means for deriving a first cross-correlation relating to a pressure of fluid based on measurement values obtained by measuring a pressure of fluid flowing through a pipeline network at least at two positions in the pipeline network, a second cross-correlation derivation means for deriving a second cross-correlation relating to a pressure of fluid based on calculation values obtained by calculating a pressure of fluid at least at the two positions in the pipeline network, and an estimation means for estimating an occurrence position of a pressure wave based on a difference between the first cross-correlation and the second cross-correlation.
Automated Gas Detection and Reporting System
An embodiment of the invention provides a method for monitoring for and detecting a leak in a line where a mobile detector having an audio sensor and an odor sensor transiting along the line. A sample audio reading is obtained by the audio sensor; and, a sample odor reading is obtained by the odor sensor. A processor compares the sample audio reading to a baseline audio reading to determine whether the line is leaking. The processor compares the sample odor reading to a baseline odor reading to determine whether the line is leaking. The location of the mobile detector is identified by a GPS device on the mobile detector when the processor determines that the line is leaking. The location of the mobile detector, the sample audio reading, and the sample odor reading is sent to a central monitoring center by a communications device on the mobile detector.
Bisection numerical algorithm coupled with pressure deviation method to determine the size and location of a leak in a pipeline
Systems and methods include a method for locating a leak in a pipeline. Pressure and flowrate measurements are received corresponding to fluid flowing through a pipeline for which a leak is to be located in a pipeline segment. A calculated leak size is determined based pressure and flowrate measurements for upstream and downstream locations. A first assumed leak location is identified. A first assumed leak size is determined. A simulation is executed based on the first assumed leak size, first assumed leak location, and pressure and flowrate measurements, producing a virtually measured leak size. If a difference between the virtually measured and calculated leak size is not within acceptance criteria, a second assumed leak size is iteratively determined, the simulation is re-executed, and the difference is re-determined. A second assumed leak location is iteratively identified, and the simulation is re-executed to determine an estimated leak location of the leak.

METHOD FOR DETECTING LEAKS IN A GAS NETWORK UNDER PRESSURE OR UNDER VACUUM AND GAS NETWORK
A method is provided for detecting and quantifying leaks in a gas network under pressure or vacuum. The gas network may have a sensor(s) capable of recording the status of a source(s), consumers, consumer areas or applications. The method includes: a start-up phase; a training or estimation phase; and an operational phase. The operational phase includes: reading out the first group of sensors; calculating or determining the value of a second group of sensors from the readings from the first group of sensors; comparing the calculated or determined values of the second group of sensors with the read values of the second group of sensors and determining the difference between them; determining, on the basis of a residual value analysis, whether there is a leak in the gas network; generating an alarm and/or generating a leakage rate and/or generating the corresponding leakage cost if a leak is detected.
