Method for detecting pipe burst in water distribution systems based on pressure disturbance extraction

The present invention introduced a method for detecting pipe bursts in water distribution systems based on pressure disturbance extraction, including following steps: (1) collecting and pre-processing monitored pressure data, and establishing a matrix of monitored pressures; (2) analyzing time-domain and frequency-domain features of the matrix of monitored pressures by Fourier transform, extracting disturbances, and generating pressure disturbances matrices; (3) identifying outliers in the pressure disturbances matrices by isolation forest algorithm; and (4) further identifying detected outliers by calculating and qualitative index A and quantitative index B and outputting a result of pipe burst detection. Compared with previous methods, the pipe burst detection method introduced in the present invention is accurate and reliable, and is more applicable to large-scale complex water distribution systems.

Device for a double hose structure with an inner main hose and an outer cover hose defining an annular space giving buoyancy in water. At least one end is provided with a coupling member forming a mount for the main hose and the cover hose which at a free end merges into a threaded portion for connecting the hose assembly to an auxiliary connection. The coupling member comprises an inner coupling sleeve connected to one end of the main hose and an outer coupling sleeve connected to the cover hose, the inner and outer coupling sleeves being mutually connected forming a liquid tight termination of the annulus by a ring-shaped plate. The plate is attached with screws through holes only to the outer sleeve, the plate being forced against a shoulder of the inner coupling sleeve by a ring nut with internal threads matching external threads on the inner sleeve.

Transient Pressure Event Detection System and Method

A transient pressure event detection system and method for a pipeline network are disclosed. The system includes a data repository encoding route data on the pipeline network, a data receiver configured to receive timestamped pipeline sensor data from each of a plurality of sensors that are spaced apart in the pipeline network, use the sensor data received to identify a transient pressure event occurrence and the timestamp for the event occurrence's arrival time, determine routes in the pipeline network between the sensors, for each route determine a potential source location in the pipeline network for the transient pressure event, perform a simulated transient event for each potential source location and determine a modelled arrival time of a transient corresponding to the event, compare the timestamp of the event occurrence with the modelled arrival time and select the potential source location corresponding to the closest modelled arrival time.
