A flashlight can include a flashlight shaft, a grip overmolded on the flashlight shaft, and a light element connected to the flashlight shaft. The flashlight shaft can have a circumferential grip recess bounded by two raised portions. The grip recess can have a surface lower than the two raised portions around a circumference of the shaft. The shaft can be integrally formed as a single piece. The grip can be overmolded into the grip recess, such that the grip covers the surface of the grip recess and is bounded by the two raised portions. The grip can be formed of a material that is insufficiently flexible to pass over the two raised portions without damage.

Lantern

An exemplary lantern comprising a signal member which serves as a safety feature to warn workers operating in a railyard of dangerous or potentially dangerous conditions. An exemplary lantern comprising a breakaway handle mechanism that allows the handle of the lantern to break away from the body of the lantern. An exemplary lantern may comprise a ratcheting mechanism that allows the handle to rotate relative to the body of the lantern, thereby allowing the lantern to be arranged on the ground in a variety of different positions.

HAND HOLDABLE LIGHT HAVING AN ERGONOMIC GRIP AND A BATTERY ASSEMBLY THEREFOR

A hand holdable light comprises: a light body having a forward portion, and a central or second portion; a light source proximate a forward end; and one or more switch actuators for controlling the light source. A rearward portion may have a non-circular cross-section; the actuators is/are on the forward portion; and the central or second portion may have a recess opposite the actuator. The light is holdable by a hand in several ways wherein a finger or thumb is proximate an actuator. A battery assembly comprises: a battery housing for receiving and connecting a battery; an electrical switch on a first end of the battery housing; and a pattern of electrical contacts on a second end of the battery housing, wherein ones of the electrical contacts are connected to the battery.

A lighting fixture includes a lighting body and an illumination adjusting element which is arranged on the lighting body and is capable of being switched between an opaque mode and a transparent mode by means of electrical control, so that the lighting fixture is able to provide different illumination patterns.

Specialized mobile light device configured with a gallium and nitrogen containing laser source
11757250 · 2023-09-12 · ·

A portable lighting apparatus is provided with a gallium-and-nitrogen containing laser diode based white light source combined with an infrared illumination source which are driven by drivers disposed in a printed circuit board assembly enclosed in a compact housing and powered by a portable power supply therein. The portable lighting apparatus includes a first wavelength converter configured to output a white-color emission and an infrared emission. A beam shaper may be configured to direct the white-color emission and the infrared emission to a front aperture of a compact housing of the portable lighting apparatus. An optical transmitting unit is configured to project or transmit a directional light beam of the white light emission and/or the infrared emission for illuminating a target of interest, transmitting a pulsed sensing signal or modulated data signal generated by the drivers therein. In some configurations, detectors are included for depth sensing and visible/infrared light communications.

Handheld mobile light source

In one aspect, a handheld lighting system is disclosed, which comprises a handheld housing extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and a light module disposed at least partially in the housing. The handheld lighting system further includes a removable and replaceable power module that is coupled to the housing (e.g., it is at least partially disposed within the housing) and is electrically coupled to the light module, e.g., through a pair of electrical leads, for providing electrical power thereto. Light intensity from the light module may be controlled from a knob on the power module. Various adapters can allow the lighting system to attach to a multitude of medical, industrial, dental or veterinary endoscopes or other instruments.

Interchangeable shadow making flashlight system
11796157 · 2023-10-24 ·

An interchangeable shadow making flashlight system herein may comprise a flashlight with an extended tube on the light-emitting end having a fastening mechanism to receive interchangeable shadow-producing cover sheets with at least first and second portions (e.g., opaque/transparent/semitransparent portions) configured in specific shapes, such that light passing through the tube is affected differently by the respective portions to create a corresponding shadow/image on a receiving projection surface. The flashlight preferably comprises a single light source, such as a light emitting diode, and no reflector, to ensure a single non-refracting beam of light through the tube, such that the resultant shadow/image is crisply made on the projection surface. Also, the length of the tube may be configured specifically to place the shadow-producing cover sheets at an optimal focal length from the light source in order to further create a crisp outline of the produced shadow. Other embodiments are also described herein.
