There is a lighting support member having a partially spherical exterior portion which is closely fitted within the partially spherical socket of the annular body. The lighting support member is pivotable relative to the annular body, but air flow between the partially spherical socket of the annular body and the partially spherical exterior portion of the lighting support member is substantially restricted. There may be a light source mounted to the lighting support member adj acent a bottom thereof. The light source may be a light-emitting diode.

Light Fixture with Edgelit Optical Element for Direct Downlighting Applications
20230055730 · 2023-02-23 · ·

Various light fixtures are provided for mounting within and below suspended grid ceilings incorporating T-bars and ceiling panels. The light fixtures comprise a double or single edgelit planar or wedge shaped optical element that functions simultaneously as an outcoupling TIR light guide and a light scatterer or direct throughput lens. It provides a number of benefits because of its edgelit design including; thin forms and shallow depth, extended emitting area and controlled lighting distributions from one or two light guide faces. Additionally, areas typically dedicated to bezels or edge reflectors can be greatly reduced or eliminated due to decreased hotspotting to provide a fixture face with very high percentage of light emitting area. Embodiments are described for direct, indirect, and direct indirect configurations. The embodiments provide increased light output, uniformity of brightness and color and controlled direct and indirect lighting distributions and with single or dual off axis intensity peaks. Such light distributions are particularly useful in applications such as direct illumination of offices, schools, hospitals, retail or commercial spaces and table tops or work surfaces or indirect illumination of ceilings, wall washing and surface area lighting as well as other lighting applications.

A printed circuit board is operably coupled to the upper mount and includes a plurality of sensors. At least one sensor is selectively and operably coupled with the plurality of indicator flanges of the upper mount. A light module is operably coupled to the lower mount and includes a tilt gear operably coupled to the lower mount. A controller is operably coupled to the printed circuit board, the pan motor, and the tilt motor and is configured to rotate the lower mount and the light module via the pan motor and is configured to tilt the light module via the tilt motor.

MARKING DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND CONTROL METHOD

A marking device includes each of a plurality of pedestrian light sources that is provided on a roadway and that emits light in at least one of a first direction and a second direction along a width direction of the roadway, each of a plurality of vehicle light sources that is provided on the roadway and that emits light in at least one of a third direction and a fourth direction along an extension direction of the roadway, and a control unit that separately controls the pedestrian light sources and the vehicle light sources. The control unit lights the pedestrian light sources, causing them to mark a first pedestrian crossing to be visually recognized by a pedestrian who is going to cross the roadway, and lights the vehicle light sources, causing them to mark a second pedestrian crossing to be visually recognized by a driver of a vehicle.

Systems and Methods for Mounting Recessed Light Fixtures

A mounting system for a recessed light fixture includes a frame and a holder supported by the frame. The holder includes a base and a support portion extending from the base. The support portion includes a top end, a bottom end opposite from the top end, and an edge extending from the top end to the bottom end. The edge includes a transition portion between the top end and the bottom end, a first step between the bottom end and the transition portion, and a plurality of second steps between the first step and the transition portion. At least one characteristic of the first step is different from each second step.

Lighting fixture having an adjustable optic system

A lighting assembly is disclosed. The lighting assembly including a number of separate and distinct features to improve useable, installation ease, etc. In one embodiment, the lighting assembly includes a heat sink, a light source, and an adjustment module portion coupled to the heat sink. The adjustment module portion includes a pivot core having a primary optic for directing light from the light source through the adjustment module. The adjustment module portion also includes a collar spring mount having first and second brackets for slidably engaging the pivot core along a plurality of guide slots such that the pivot core moves horizontally with respect to the collar spring mount as the pivot core is tilted with respect to the collar spring mount. The plurality of guide slots may include first, second and third guide slots, each of which has a different shape.

Lighting module having field-replaceable optics, improved cooling, and tool-less mounting features

A lighting module includes a heat sink with a sidewall and a partition defining two cavities, a LED light source disposed in one cavity to emit light, a driver module disposed in the other cavity with driver circuitry to provide electrical power to the light source, and an optical assembly to provide a desired emission profile. The optical assembly is field-changeable and includes a cover lens with snap-fit connectors to facilitate removal and replacement. The optical assembly further includes either a reflector coupled to the cover lens or an optical lens coupled to the heat sink via an optic holder. In some examples, the driver circuitry facilitates dimming of the light source. The heat sink also dissipates heat generated by the light source and the driver circuitry to maintain desired operating temperatures and thereby facilitate increased light output.
