The invention provides a portable lighting device with an elongated main body that includes a housing with receiver, and a power source positioned within the receiver. An operational mode selector assembly with a switch assembly that is actuated by a user is operatively coupled to the power source. An illumination assembly is electrically coupled to both the operational mode selector and the power source. The illumination assembly has a primary light source with a light emitter that emits light axially along a longitudinal axis of the main body or housing through a lens. A secondary light source with a light emitter emits light substantially perpendicular to the axis to illuminate an indicia located in a side region of the illumination assembly. During operation of the portable lighting device, the components of the illumination assembly are arranged such that: (i) the primary light source does not illuminate the indicia, (ii) the secondary light source does not emit light through the lens, (iii) an appreciable amount of light emitted from the primary light source does not mix with light that is emitted from the secondary light source within the portable lighting device, and (iv) an appreciable amount of light emitted from the secondary light source does not mix with light that is emitted from the primary light source within the portable lighting device.

A small end of the lens body is provided with a concave inner light source accommodation space. The inner surface of the light source accommodation space is an incident surface of light. A surface of a large end of the lens body is an exit surface, and a side surface of the lens body is a reflecting surface. A bottom of the light source accommodation space is provided with a cylindrical protrusion. A cross section dimension of the light source accommodation space gradually decreases, from the small end of the lens to the large end of the lens. The cylindrical protrusion is formed by protrusion from the bottom of the light source accommodation space toward the small end of the lens body.

A luminaire includes a receiving element for a rotationally symmetrical glass body with a receiving opening, a rotationally symmetrical glass body arranged in the receiving opening and an annular, permanently elastic element arranged between the receiving element and the glass body, wherein the receiving element is formed with a support surface which is inclined towards the glass body and the glass body is formed with a receiving surface diametrically opposite to the support surface. The permanently elastic element is positioned in the installed state between the support surface and the receiving surface in order to fix the receiving element and the glass body positively and concentrically to each other. An annular gap is provided between glass body and receiving element for introducing the annular, permanently elastic element between support surface and receiving surface. A method for fastening the glass body in the receiving element is provided.

Portable light providing plural beams of laser light

A portable light may comprise: a light body having an illumination, e.g., white, light source and one or more laser light sources, each light source being selectively energizable for producing light; and a switch for selectively energizing the illumination light source and/or the laser light sources. The one or more laser light sources provide diverging narrow beams of laser light, so as to appear as spaced apart dots or spots of laser light on objects illuminated by the beams of laser light. Because the laser light beams diverge, the distance between the dots is proportional to the distance to the object which the dots illuminate. A TIR optical element may also be disposed in front of the illumination light source for receiving the light produced thereby.
