A portable illumination apparatus having a sterilizing function, the illumination apparatus including: a lamp unit which includes an illuminating light element on an interior side of the lamp unit; a base coupled to the lamp unit by a hinge; and a sterilizing light element located on the interior side of the lamp unit. When the lamp unit is in a closed position with the base, the lamp unit and the base meet at a boundary section to form a cylinder with a top and a bottom. Also, the boundary section is substantially mirror-symmetrical and at least partially U-shaped such that the lamp unit has a longest height line and a shortest height line. Additionally, the illuminating light element is arranged on or along the longest height line and the hinge is formed about the shortest height line.

The battery module can be replaced and upgraded according to future need, and can be independently charged, so that the life cycle of the whole device is extended. When a beam head is used for photographing, a reflection cup and a condensing lens that are added on the beam head can increase light efficiency, so that a better photographing and recording effect can be achieved. In addition, since the device can be connected to a camera or a camcorder without a grip, a clamp or other parts, the device is convenient, light in weight and practical.

In various embodiments, a light emitting diode (LED) lamp is provided. The LED lamp may include a base; a first housing having a first end and a second end, the first end secured to the base; a second housing having at least in part a partially conical shape, an end of the second housing having a smaller diameter secured to the second end of the first housing; at least one LED secured within the second; driver circuitry secured within the LED flood lamp between the end of the base and the at least one LED; a reflector having a partially conical shape; and a diffuser element secured to at least one of a wider end of the reflector or the end of the second housing having the larger diameter. In some embodiments, the first or second housing may include one or more vents.

A directional illumination apparatus comprises an array of micro-LEDs that may be organic LEDs (OLEDs) or inorganic LEDs and an aligned solid catadioptric micro-optic array arranged to provide a water vapour and oxygen barrier for the micro-LEDs as well as reduced sensitivity to thermal and pressure variations.
