Various aspects and embodiments of under-hood luminaires are described. In one example, an under-hood luminaire includes a luminaire frame assembly. The luminaire frame assembly includes support braces and a number of cross members secured to the support braces in a spaced-apart configuration. The cross members include mounting surfaces, and light strips are secured to the mounting surfaces. The luminaire also includes a contraction hook assembly that can be used to secure the under-hood luminaire to the hood of an automobile. The luminaire can be relied upon to uniformly illuminate the engine compartment of the automobile, helping to eliminate lost productivity and frustration for mechanics.

ARTICLE AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION OF DC LIGHTING SENSOR

Disclosed herein is a light fixture including a fixture body for supporting a light source. An aperture is formed in the fixture body, sized and proportioned for receiving a sensor for activating at least one light source received in the fixture body. A removable cover is provided for covering the aperture until the sensor is optionally installed. A power supply provides electrical power to the light source. The sensor includes a photocell that detects a predetermined low light level to activate the light source. A motion sensor detects a predetermined motion level to activate the light source. A timer measures a predetermined period of time of no movement at the motion sensor to reduce the light level. A retaining structure retains the sensor in the aperture formed in the fixture body.

DOWNLIGHT FIXTURE HOUSING FABRICATION

Lighting accessories that can be installed in existing luminaire assemblies, as reflectors, are disclosed. The accessories are configured for placement above or on the side of a light bulb, where they can reflect a portion of the light produced by the bulb, thereby redirecting light to a useful area, increasing total light output, and reducing energy consumption. For example, a light reflector disclosed herein may comprise a substantially planar body having at least one substantially straight edge and at least two curved edges and a clamp affixed to a portion of the substantially planar body distal to the at least one substantially straight edge.

Compact lighting apparatus with AC to DC converter and integrated electrical connector

A lighting apparatus includes a housing structure having a rear face, a sidewall, a front end face, a partition to divide an interior cavity of the housing structure into a top portion and a bottom portion, and at least one exterior width dimension such that at least a portion of the housing structure fits into a space having a width of less than 3.5 inches. A light source module is positioned in the bottom portion of the housing structure, and an AC to DC converter is positioned in the top portion of the housing structure to power the light source module. A reflecting element is positioned to direct light produced by the light source module out of the housing structure. At least a portion of a front surface of a substantially flat lens is substantially coplanar with an exterior surface of the front end face of the housing structure. One or more connecting mechanisms couple a trim to the front end face of the housing structure, and an electrical connector, coupled to the AC to DC converter, is integrated into the housing structure along a sidewall of the housing structure.

A mood indicating assembly includes a housing that is positionable on a support surface. A plurality of light bars is each disposed on the housing to emit light outwardly from the housing. Each of the plurality of light bars is independently actuatable ranging between a minimum number of the plurality light bars and a maximum number of the plurality of light bars. In this way the plurality of light bars facilitate a user to visually communicate an intensity of their mood to a colleague. Each of the plurality of light bars emits light of a unique color with respect to each other to facilitate the user to visually communicate their stress level to the colleague thereby facilitating the colleague to choose to avoid disturbing the user.
