A protection system for a lamp is provided. One or more control circuit boards and one or more thermal devices are disposed in the lamp. The control circuit board has an electrical circuit. The thermal device is disposed on the control circuit board and connected to the electrical circuit. The thermal device is attached to one or more thermal fuses with a binding member. Accordingly, the safety of the driving power supply can be increased. Moreover, the thermal fuse not only provides protection for the inputs of the driving power supply, but also provides protection for other main or branch circuits.

In one embodiment of the present invention, there is described a surge immune terminal block assembly consisting of a terminal block comprised of a base housing unit and a surge protection housing unit, such that when the base housing unit and the surge protection housing unit are coupled together, the terminal block provides electrical connectivity and surge protection. Extruding from the body of the surge protection housing unit are polarity protected mechanical plugs that dock into corresponding cut-away portions in the base housing unit. When docked, the mechanical plugs connect with electrical terminations to provide an electrical connection between the electrical connectivity components of the base housing unit and the surge protection components.

In one embodiment of the present invention, there is described a surge immune terminal block assembly consisting of a terminal block comprised of a base housing unit and a surge protection housing unit, such that when the base housing unit and the surge protection housing unit are coupled together, the terminal block provides electrical connectivity and surge protection. Extruding from the body of the surge protection housing unit are polarity protected mechanical plugs that dock into corresponding cut-away portions in the base housing unit. When docked, the mechanical plugs connect with electrical terminations to provide an electrical connection between the electrical connectivity components of the base housing unit and the surge protection components.

The fixing structure comprises a first end fixedly connected to the inner circumferential surface of the glass lamp tube and a second end fixedly connected to the fixing portion of the LED light strip and not connected to the extending portion of the LED light strip.

Light from the downlight can be faced downward to project light or upward to reflect light off of the ceiling. The driver has an input with a first voltage and an output with a second voltage, the second voltage being lower than the first and being provided through a wire system extending from the LED driver. The IDC connects the downlight to the wire system. The lighting system can be changed from a first to a second configuration by at least one of adding an additional downlight using a corresponding IDC or removing an existing downlight using a corresponding IDC. The second configuration does not significantly affect a desired output range of light from any downlight or any LED circuit of any downlight that remains or preexists from the first configuration.

The method comprises measuring a temperature adjacent a light source using a temperature sensor and automatically adjusting, using a processor, the current suppled to the light source based on the temperature sensor data relative to a predetermined temperature threshold.
