First lighting bodies are provided to the outer surface of a vehicle body, and second lighting bodies are provided to the outer surface of a trunk lid, which can open/close a trunk. While the trunk lid is closed, a first mode is executed in which the second lighting bodies are lit and the lighting is maintained, and then the first lighting bodies are lit and the lighting is maintained for a prescribed period. When the trunk lid is open, a second mode is executed in which at least the former among the first lighting bodies and the second lighting bodies is lit and the lighting time thereof is set longer than the lighting time of the first lighting bodies in the first mode.

TFT LCD light bar

A light bar has a circuit board positioned within a housing and having a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) or a thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal display (TFT LCD) is configured to transmit light. The housing has wiring electrically connected to a controller. The controller is configured to receive signals from the electrical system of the vehicle, interpret the signals received from the electrical system of the vehicle, and in response automatically control illumination of independently controllable segments of the vehicle light bar. The controller is initially programmed to perform specific function(s) and/or strobe according to specific patterns and is thereafter at least partially restricted from being reprogrammed by a user to serve other function(s), either by restricting the emission of light in at least one color and/or preventing specific strobing pattern(s).

Modular enclosure with water management mating interfaces

The modular enclosure with water management mating interfaces most fundamentally includes a mechanical connection which directs and obstructs water via various strategically positioned structures and gaps. One basic configuration includes a base having at least one end face and a periphery extending from the end face. The periphery includes an outward projecting lip. A plurality of retainers is secured to the base below the lip. The retainers and the lip define a channel extending along at least part of each side of the base. A dome having longitudinal sides that terminate in a bottom edge and an inward projecting flange that is spaced from the bottom edge is received by the flange in the channel to retain the dome to the base.

COMPACT LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE ARRANGEMENT
20200070720 · 2020-03-05 ·

The present invention is directed to a compact light-emitting diode arrangement which can be used generically but, by reason of the compact design, is advantageous in particular for use in a vehicle. For instance, the compact light-emitting diode arrangement can be used e.g. as interior lighting in a car. The present invention is also directed to a vehicle component having the compact light-emitting diode arrangement. Furthermore, a method for producing the compact light-emitting diode arrangement is proposed as is a computer program product including control commands which implement the proposed method.

Remote vehicle hazard and communication beacon

A hazard beacon has an interface to a vehicle wiring harness configured to detect that vehicle emergency indicators have been deployed, a plurality of separately strobe capable light segments forming a hazard symbol, and a microcontroller controlling operation of the plurality of separately strobe capable light segments.

VEHICLE PROJECTION DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR, AND VEHICLE LAMP

A lighting timing or lighting mode of a projection unit requires improvement in relation to lighting of a turn lamp. A vehicle lamp includes: a projection unit that includes a light source and projects a predetermined image onto a road surface based on lighting of the light source; and a lighting control unit that controls the light source. The lighting control unit controls the light source such that a required time period from a first time point at which the light source starts lighting in response to an input of a turn signal or a hazard signal to a second time point at which the light source reaches a target light intensity ends later than a third time point at which a turn lamp or a hazard lamp is lit at a target light intensity thereof in response to the input of the turn signal or the hazard signal.

Enhanced operation of vehicle hazard and lighting communication systems

A system includes a microcontroller that controls illumination of a plurality of vehicle lights that are operable in a flashing state wherein the plurality of lights operate as hazard flashers visible on a front and rear of a vehicle and a strobing state wherein the plurality of lights operate as strobing lights visible on the front and rear of the vehicle. The system includes a strobe activation switch that provides a signal to the microcontroller to operate the plurality of vehicle lights in the second strobing state. The microcontroller operates the plurality of vehicle lights in the first hazard flasher state in response activation of an existing hazard flasher switch. The strobing state has a flash rate that is perceptibly faster than a flash rate of the flashing state.

TELESCOPIC LIGHTING STRUCTURE

A telescopic lighting structure includes a telescopic rod composed of a rod body and a detachable terminal rod. The terminal rod has a light-emitting module and a power switch. The light-emitting module and the power switch do not protrude beyond the surface of the terminal rod, thus the terminal rod can be completely retracted into the rod body, making it easy to store and protect the light-emitting module. A power supply assembly is provided inside the terminal rod. The power supply assembly controls the connection with the light-emitting module through the power switch. Through this structural design in which the power supply assembly, the light-emitting module and the power switch are arranged on the terminal rod, the telescopic rod can be stretched so that the light-emitting module has a higher lighting height. Further, the terminal rod can be removed to provide illumination alone, thereby increasing the scope of application.

Method and apparatus for providing a supplemental light source to a motor vehicle

Methods and apparatuses provide a supplemental light source, such as a strobe light, for a motor vehicle. An adapter may be provided to mount a supplemental light source to an existing primary light source, such as a parking and turn signal light bulb. A wiring assembly may interconnect the supplemental light source with a controller, such as a switch. The combined primary and supplemental light sources may then be inserted into a vehicle light housing through an existing light bulb aperture, without creating additional apertures or otherwise modifying the light housing.

VEHICLE INDICATION ALERT SYSTEM

A vehicle indication alert system for improving vehicle visibility for pedestrians and other motorists. The vehicle indication alert system increases the number of turn indicators on a vehicle, so the direction of the turn is more accurately known. The indicators are built directly into a vehicle windshield at the time of manufacture, and alternatively, are added as an after-market feature to an existing vehicle windshield.
