Cove lighting

Presented are concepts for controlling cove lighting. Once such concept provides cove lighting adapted to output decorative light for illuminating the ceiling of an architectural space. The cove lighting comprises a control unit adapted to individually control each of the primary light sources in response to a lighting control signal so that the output decorative light mimics an outdoor lighting condition.

The device comprises a luminaire containing a plurality of light sources (28) located on a first surface portion, and arranged to direct light in a direction of a plurality of light transmissive areas (32) formed within an opposing second surface portion. The opposing second surface portion may at least partially bound a chamber (14) within which the primary light sources are disposed, where an internal surface arrangement of the chamber is configured to absorb at least part of the spectral composition of any light emitted by the primary light sources which does not fall directly onto the light transmissive areas.

LIGHTING SYSTEM AND A METHOD OF GENERATING A LIGHT OUTPUT

A lighting module has an LED (44), a lens (45) over the LED to produce a beam-shaped output from the LED and a collimator (50) arranged to partially collimate the beam-shaped out-put. Blue light is provided at large angles to the normal, for example using a filter arrangement (54, 56) over the collimator which is adapted to filter light from the collimator at relatively large angles to the normal. The filter arrangement does not filter light from the collimator at relatively small angles to the normal. Thus, the module provides white task light in a normal direction and blue ambient light at steep angles. The overall system can be compact and light efficient.

ILLUMINATION APPARATUS

An illumination apparatus that is to be disposed in a recess formed in a part of a building includes: a light-emitting module that includes a board and a plurality of light-emitting elements disposed on the board; a light diffuser that has translucency and covers the light-emitting module; and a light reflector that includes a wall having light-reflecting properties and surrounding the plurality of light-emitting elements. Among the plurality of light-emitting elements, every two adjacent light-emitting elements are disposed on the board at a first interval. Among the plurality of light-emitting elements, a light-emitting element closest to the wall is disposed on the board with a second interval to the wall, the second interval being larger than of the first interval and smaller than the first interval.

ILLUMINATION APPARATUS AND ILLUMINATION SYSTEM

An illumination apparatus includes: a case having an opening portion; a first light source disposed in the case and including a plurality of light-emitting elements; a light diffuser which is disposed in the opening portion, diffuses and transmits light emitted from the first light source, and from which the diffused light and the transmitted light exit; a light emission component disposed outside a light exit region of the light diffuser on a light exit surface side of the light diffuser; and a second light source that emits light to the light emission component to cause the light emission component to radiate light.
