An uplight module is provided having a plurality of different lights, each of the plurality of lights for producing a different type of light incident on the ceiling. The uplight module may include a modular circuit board assembly comprising a main board including one or more LEDs and one or more auxiliary boards connected to the main board and including one or more UV LEDs, whereby adaptation for producing germicidal energy can be achieved without dismounting the ceiling fan from the ceiling. A controller may be provided for controlling the light intensity or temperature, including from pre-selected values. Related methods are also disclosed.

The supplementary infrared lighting device controller is tapped into the power supply network. The lighting assembly controller is configured to provide an electric trigger pulse on the power supply network for activating the at least one infrared lighting device.

A light emitting device includes a light emitting diode chip configured to emit first light having a peak wavelength of 400 nm to 470 nm; a wavelength conversion material converting a portion of the first light into second light having a peak wavelength of 620 nm to 670 nm; and a near-infrared phosphor configured to convert a portion of the first light into third light having a peak wavelength of 740 nm to 820 nm, wherein the near-infrared phosphor includes a phosphor represented by composition formula CaAl.sub.(12-x-y)Ga.sub.yO.sub.19:xCr.sup.3+, where x satisfies 0.1x0.3 and y satisfies 1 or more, and an emission spectrum of the third light alone has a ratio of an intensity of 690 nm relative to an intensity of 780 nm of 0.3 or less.

DISPLAY DEVICE

A display device includes a light-transmitting portion, a display light source arranged at an inner side of the light-transmitting portion, and a housing including an opening. The housing accommodates the display light source and the light-transmitting portion is arranged in the opening. The light-transmitting portion includes a transparent plastic base member, a first color exhibiting layer containing dye or pigment, and a second color exhibiting layer containing a filler made of a cold mirror thin film. The first color exhibiting layer has a transmittance of 20% or more for light having a specific wavelength. The second color exhibiting layer has a reflectance of 80% or less for light having a wavelength not absorbed by the dye or the pigment of the first color exhibiting layer and a transmittance of 60% or more for light having a wavelength absorbed by the dye or the pigment of the first color exhibiting layer.
