Method and apparatus for adjusting hydrodynamic properties of a watercraft
11130036 · 2021-09-28 ·

An apparatus for securely and removably attaching an apparatus for adjusting the hydrodynamics of a watercraft is provided. The apparatus is attached to the watercraft by an elastic cord. One or more flow resistance members are removably attached to the cord. The cord is looped in a configuration that allows for infinite length/size adjustment. A closure for forming the loop can be released, allowing the user to add or subtract resistance members to achieve a desired resistance.

A water-resistance rowing machine has a frame body, a water-resistance unit, at least one blade wheel, a pulling strap, and a seat. The frame body has an elongated beam and a pulley rotatably mounted on the frame body. The water-resistance unit has a water tank extending along the elongated beam, a rotating shaft disposed in the water tank and extending along and being parallel to the elongated beam, and a strap wheel assembly connected with the rotating shaft to drive the rotating shaft to spin. The at least one blade wheel is mounted on and rotated with the rotating shaft. The pulling strap is wrapped around the pulley and has an end connected with the strap wheel assembly and a handle formed on another end of the pulling strap. The seat is mounted on the elongated beam.

Exercise apparatus

An exercise apparatus (10) has two wheels (12, 12′) rotatably mounted to a base (14, 14′), spaced apart and each located within a pair of wheel housings (15, 15′), respectively. Pivotably connected to each wheel is a cam (16). Another end of the cam (16) is pivotably connected to a push rod (17) which is pivotably connected to a handle (18) which is rotatably mounted in a housing (20). The pair of handle housings (20) are pivotably and respectively mounted to the pair of cams (16) such that movement of each arm in a vertical plane up or down by operating on the respective handle causes an elliptical rotation of the respective cam relative to the respective wheel (12, 12′).

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REDUCING RUNAWAY RESISTANCE ON AN EXERCISE DEVICE
