Exercise device and related methods thereof
An exercise device includes a main pulley configured to rotate about a hub and having a first surface, a second surface opposite to the first surface, and a peripheral surface. The exercise device also includes a lower pulley coupled to a resistance drum and a belt wrapped partially around the peripheral surface of the main pulley coupling the main pulley to the lower pulley. Brake lining is positioned inside the resistance drum and are configured to be adjusted inwardly and outwardly along interior sidewalls of the resistance drum. In addition, a cable is coupled to the brake lining to control an amount of resistance to a rotation of the resistance drum, and a crank shaft is coupled to a hub of the main pulley and configured to be operated by feet of an individual for rotating the main pulley about the hub against the resistance to exercise the individual.
TREADMILL
A treadmill includes a base frame, a treadmill belt, a plurality of bearing wheels, a bearing frame, and a limiting frame. The treadmill belt is rotatably installed on the base frame. The bearing wheel is mounted on an inner surface of the treadmill belt. Each bearing wheel is inclined with respect to a horizontal plane, and the bearing frame and the limiting frame are both mounted on the base frame. The bearing frame supports the bearing wheels of the upper section of the treadmill belt. The limiting frame is disposed on one side of the bearing wheel and abuts the bearing wheel. The treadmill has the advantages that the friction between the limiting frame and the bearing wheels can be reduced and can avoid sudden stop or sticking.
Methods of resistance training to arm and leg movements while running
A method for resistance training to arm and leg movement can include connecting a horizontally oriented raised weight base secured to a moveable sled in a spaced apart relationship, mounting a agility box, threading a first flexible and extendable one piece stretch cord through a plurality of aligned first upper rollers, securing a static non-extending stretch cord between the moveable sled and a subject, pulling on the first flexible and extendable one piece stretch cord connected to the moveable sled by the subject to receive a first load of resistance causing a physiological change to a targeted part of the subject and simultaneously receiving a second load of resistance to a targeted part of the subject while pulling the moveable sled with the static non-extendable stretch cord.
PASSIVE-TYPE TREADMILL
A passive-type treadmill is disclosed which includes a closed-loop belt rolling around two spaced apart rollers for providing a running platform, a first and a second handrail parallel to each other and extended upward angling to a surface of the closed-loop belt at larger than 45 degrees, and a towel rack having at least a first and a second clip for stretching a towel between the first and the second handrail.
Compliant bimanual rehabilitation device and method of use thereof
A compliant bimanual rehabilitation system. The device allows for the user or operator's hands to be coupled with a variety of coupling stiffnesses and in a variety of symmetry modes, leading to enhanced rehabilitation of the impaired arm. Structurally, the device includes a carrier assembly slidably coupled to a base along a y-axis, an upper assembly rotatably coupled to the carrier assembly along a z-axis, handle slides slidably coupled to the upper assembly along an x-axis, compliant handle assemblies coupled to the handle slides, and handles coupled to the compliant handle assemblies. Encoders and load cells can also be positioned accordingly to monitor the position of the components and force applied to the device. Spring stacks can be coupled to the compliant handle assemblies to adjust coupling stiffnesses. The handles are indirectly linked to each other to facilitate rehabilitation of the paretic arm using the sound arm.
PNEUMATIC AB WHEEL
A pneumatic ab wheel includes shaft having a middle section and two holding sections, a rotation assembly pivotally connected to the middle section of the shaft and performing a rotational movement on the shaft, and a wheel provided around the rotation assembly to drive the rotation assembly to perform the rotational movement on the shaft and to roll on a surface while in contact with the surface so as to generate a frictional force. The wheel is filled therein with at least one gas to form a pneumatic pressure in the wheel. When the pneumatic pressure in the wheel is adjusted, the frictional force between the wheel and the surface is changed.
LOCKING DEVICE FOR RECUMBENT STEPPER
A locking device for an exercise system may include a locking member having a contact portion and configured to move between a first position and a second position. When in the first position, the contact portion of the locking member is not in mechanical communication with the resistance mechanism of the exercise system, thereby allowing movement of the at least one moveable assembly. When in the second position, the contact portion of the locking member is in mechanical communication with the resistance mechanism of the exercise system, thereby preventing movement of the at least one moveable assembly.
SAFETY CONTROL SYSTEM FOR MOTORIZED RESISTANCE EQUIPMENT UTILIZING ONE-WAY CLUTCHES
An exercise apparatus includes a rope wrapped around a spindle having a one-way clutch rotatably mounted on a driveshaft. The driveshaft is driven by a motor controlled by a motor controller. The controller is capable of driving and braking the motor such that the driving torque and the braking torque can be set at different values to ensure the safety of the apparatus and user.
Instrumented total body recumbent cross trainer system
A physical exercise device providing a stepper like motion for a user may include a pair of foot pedals and a pair of arms for engagement by the user while seated on the seat of the physical exercise device. The pair of foot pedals and the pair of arms may be connected to a drive train which provides contralateral motion between the pair of arms and the pair of foot pedals. A pedal and arm lock mechanism may also be provided which prevents the pedals and arms to be moved in a lock state, while allowing movement of the pedals and the arms when in the unlock state. The physical exercise device may also include computational and data acquisition units for receiving a position signal and pedal force signals and recording the signals.
MANUAL TREADMILL AND METHODS OF OPERATING THE SAME
A treadmill is provided according to various embodiments herein. The treadmill includes a frame; a front shaft coupled to the frame; a rear shaft coupled to the frame; and a running belt disposed about the front and rear shafts, wherein the running belt assumes at least a portion of a curved running surface. The running belt includes: a first endless belt and a plurality of slats, each slat having a first side and a second side and coupled to the first endless belt, wherein each slat in the plurality of slats includes a user engagement surface provided on the first side of the slat and a rib positioned on the second side of the slat, wherein the rib extends away from the user engagement surface.
