REFORMER FURNACE FOR PERFORMING AN ENDOTHERMIC PROCESS
20210140712 · 2021-05-13 ·

A reformer furnace having a reaction space formed with reaction tubes, a firing space fitted with burners and a flue gas channel in fluid connection with the firing space. The burners are arranged at a first end face of the reformer furnace and produce flames oriented towards a second end face to fire the reaction tubes. The flue gas channel has a transition region and a withdrawal region, wherein the flue gas channel is connected to the second end face of the firing space via the transition region and the transition region of the flue gas channel has a reduced channel diameter compared to the withdrawal region of the flue gas channel. The transition region has a constriction relative to the withdrawal region which results in a hydraulic decoupling between the firing space and the withdrawal region of the flue gas channel.

MULTI-BURNER ROTARY FURNACE MELTING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A method of melting a charge in a double-pass tilt rotary furnace having a door, including operating a first burner at a first firing rate, the first burner being mounted in a lower portion of the door and producing a first flame having a length; operating a second burner at a second firing rate, the second burner being mounted in an upper portion of the door and producing a second flame having a length, the second flame being distal from the charge relative to the first flame; in an initial phase when the solids in the charge impede the first flame, controlling the second firing rate to be greater than the first firing rate; and in an later phase after melting of the solids in the charge sufficiently that the first flame is not impeded, controlling the first firing rate to be greater than the second firing rate.

BURNER SYSTEM INCLUDING A PLURALITY OF PERFORATED FLAME HOLDERS

A combustion system includes a fuel and oxidant source, a first distal flame holder body, a second distal flame holder body, and a thermal load. The fuel and oxidant source outputs fuel and oxidant. The first and second distal flame holder bodies simultaneously or alternately hold combustion reaction portions of the fuel and oxidant and/or of combustion products. The thermal load receives thermal energy from the first and second combustion reaction portions.

Boosted gas burner assembly and a method of operating the same

A gas burner assembly for a cooktop appliance and a method for operating the same are provided. The gas burner assembly includes a normally aspirated primary burner, a concentrically-positioned forced air boost burner, a boost valve for regulating a flow of boost fuel to the boost burner, and a forced air supply source for providing a flow of air to the boost burner. The method includes activating the boost burner upon receiving a command and starting a timer. After a predetermined amount of time has passed, e.g., such as ten minutes, the boost burner is extinguished by closing the boost valve to prevent unsafe operating conditions.
