A turbomachine component having a solid body with an elongated clearance, a channel located within the clearance of that body, where the channel is free of struts between the channel and a section of the body which is surrounding the channel to provide a continuous thermal insulation gap between the channel and the section of the body. The channel and the body are built in an additive manufacturing generation process synchronously layer by layer, from a metallic powder, wherein successive layers are selectively fused to build the body and the channel. The channel is arranged inside the body as a loose component, loose inside of the clearance and distant to the body. Spacer elements are provided, wherein each of the spacer elements is physically attached to only one of its ends either to the channel or to the body and put the channel in position and distant to the body.

Premix fuel nozzle assembly

A premix fuel nozzle assembly includes a center body including a sleeve having an inner surface and a pilot premix fuel nozzle assembly that extends axially through the center body within the sleeve and defines a pilot air passage within the center body. The pilot premix fuel nozzle assembly includes a premix tip having a plurality of premix tubes that define premix passages in fluid communication with the pilot air passage. At least one of the premix tubes includes a fuel port. The premix fuel nozzle assembly further includes a pilot fuel flow path that is defined radially between the pilot premix fuel nozzle assembly and the inner surface of the sleeve and a fuel plenum that is at least partially defined between the sleeve inner surface and an outer surface of the premix tip. The fuel ports provide for fluid communication between the fuel plenum and the premix passages.

Apparatus and method for operating a gas-fired burner on liquid fuels

An apparatus and method for operating a gas-fired burner on a liquid fuel. The apparatus integrates a catalytic liquid fuel reformer with a flame burner designed for operation on a gaseous fuel of high Wobbe Index, e.g., natural gas. The method involves reacting a mixture of a liquid fuel and oxidant in a catalytic reformer to obtain a gaseous reformate having a low Wobbe Index; and thereafter combusting the gaseous reformate, optionally augmented with liquid co-fuel and oxidant, in the gas-fired burner under diffusion flame conditions. The invention allows commercial gas-fired appliances, such as stoves, ovens, ranges, grills, griddles, stock pot burners, clothes dryers, hot water heaters, and boilers to be operated on a liquid fuel, which offers advantages in logistics and camp operations.
