EXERCISE DEVICES FOR USERS IN CONFINED SPACE
An exercise device includes an elastic cable, a panel, and a spindle coupled to an interior side of the panel. The spindle has a locked state and an unlocked state, the spindle being rotatable in a first direction to wind the elastic cable and being rotatable in a second direction to unwind both ends of the elastic cable when the spindle is in the unlocked state, and the spindle being non-rotatable when the spindle is in the locked state. A first stirrup is coupled to a first end of the elastic cable, and a second stirrup is coupled to a second end of the elastic cable.
STRENGTH TRAINING DEVICE USING MAGNETORHEOLOGICAL FLUID CLUTCH APPARATUS
A system for assisting a user in strength training with a strength training device comprises a torque source. One or more magnetorheological (MR) fluid clutch apparatuses has an input coupled to torque source to receive torque from the torque source, the MR fluid clutch apparatus controllable to transmit a variable amount of torque via an output thereof. A modulation inter face couples the output of the at least one MR fluid clutch apparatus to a force transmission of the training device. One or more sensors provide information indicative of a training action by the user. A training processor comprises a training effort calculator module for receiving the information indicative of the training action and for characterizing the training action, a training assistance controller module for determining a level of force assistance from the characterizing of the training action, and an assistance generator module for controlling the at least one MR fluid clutch apparatus in exerting the force assistance at said level on the force transmission of the training device to assist the user in the training action. A method for assisting a user in strength training with a MR fluid clutch apparatus is also provided.
REHABILITATION FITNESS AND EXERCISE SYSTEM
An exercise apparatus includes a plurality of bands. Each band has a first end and a second end. The first end is configured to attach to a secure object. The apparatus includes a seat that has a first attachment end and a second attachment end. Each attachment end is selectively attachable to the second end of each band so as to vary a resistance between the secure object and the seat.
Wheelchair exercise device
A wheelchair exercise device comprising two assemblies, each assembly comprises: a seat plate; a longish pipe element; and a wide belt. The seat plate is L-shaped and made of hard material, the longish pipe element is flexible and has padding on its top side, the longish pipe element mounted onto ferrule or hole integrated approximately in the middle of the vertical edge of the L-shaped seat plate, the first end of the wide belt is attached to the longish pipe element and adjustable upwards, downwards and around the pipe of the longish pipe element, and the second end of the wide belt has hook and loop fastener. The two assemblies are adapted to be fastened onto each other by the hook and loop fasteners, and the assemblies are designed so that the combined measurement of both the width and length of the seat plates is smaller than the measurement of a wheelchair seat, thereby allowing the width and vertical adjustment of the location of the seat plates on the wheelchair seat.
SEATING SYSTEM FOR A TRAMPOLINE
A seating system for detachable mounting onto a supporting frame of an elevated exercise structure is disclosed. The seating system includes a rigid frame assembly having a horizontal frame and a vertical member connected together using a mechanical attachment devices. The horizontal frame and the vertical member are reinforced using supporting cross members. A hook portion is attached to the vertical member to engage the rigid frame assembly with the supporting frame of the elevated exercise structure. There is a clamping device provided on a bottom portion of the vertical member securely attach the rigid frame assembly to a supporting leg of the elevated exercise structure. The seating arrangement can be removably attached to the horizontal frame to allow users to sit beside the elevated exercise structure such as a trampoline. The seating means further includes a backrest portion removably attached to the horizontal frame using a spring lock arrangement.
SMART PEDAL FOR CYCLE STYLE EXERCISE DEVICES
A pedal system for tracking use of a cycle style exercise device. The pedal system includes a pedal with a shaft for coupling to the pedal crank of the exercise device and a housing that is rotatable about the shaft. An accelerometer positioned in the housing is configured to provide data about the movement of the pedal to a microcontroller. A wireless communication chip positioned in the housing is used to transmit the data about the movement of the pedal to a remote device via the wireless communication chip. The remote device is programmed to receive, display and track the data about the movement of the pedal.
Transfer and exercise attachment and method for wheelchairs
Stable transfer of a person from a wheelchair to another support facility, such as a bed or commode, utilizes a support bar having first and second legs depending vertically from respective ends of a transversely extending grip section. In a normal or exercise mode the lower ends of the bar legs can be selectively secured in respective sockets on opposite sides of the wheelchair with the grip section disposed horizontally in front of the wheelchair. In a transfer mode the bar is positioned with the lower end of the first leg removably engaging a bed or other support facility and the lower end of the second leg engaging to one of the wheelchair sockets such that the bar stably secures the wheelchair to the facility and the grip section can be grasped by a person transferring between the wheelchair and the support facility.
Anchored resistance exercise device with sensor
An exercise system comprises an anchor and at least one extendible tether extending from a mooring on the anchor to a grip end. Each extendible tether is longitudinally movable between an extended configuration and a retracted configuration. At least one sensor alignment arm is movably coupled to the anchor, and a sensor is associated with each sensor alignment arm and extendible tether. The sensor alignment arm carries a first sensor element and the extendible tether carries a second sensor element. Each extendible tether is longitudinally movable relative to its sensor alignment arm and angular movement of the extendible tether relative to the anchor moves the sensor alignment arm to maintain longitudinal alignment between the first sensor element and the second sensor element. The sensor detects movement of the second sensor element past the first sensor element as the extendible tether moves between the extended configuration and the retracted configuration.
Systems and Methods for Providing Ergonomic Chairs
A chair for providing support to a user's spine to improve posture and for providing ways for the user to perform exercises. The chair may include a flexible connection that enables a back support to move side to side through a sidebending range of motion of the user. The back support, which may include a flexible chair spine, may be configured to adapt to the curvature of the user's spine when the user is seated in the chair. A seat of the chair may include channels and vents to improve air circulation within the seat.
Exercise chairs
An exercise chair is disclosed that includes a backrest, four legs, and a ball frame, which is configured to nestably receive an inflated ball, such that a top surface of the inflated ball may receive a sitting person. The chair includes a pressure sensor that is positioned beneath a bottom surface of the inflated ball, which is configured to detect pressure exerted by the inflated ball and calculate force measurements resulting from such pressure. The chair also includes an electronic controller/transmitter that is configured to receive the force measurements from the pressure sensor; calculate whether a person sitting on the chair jumped from the chair based on such force measurements during a defined period of time; and communicate a total number of calculated jumps by the person over a defined period of time to the person.
