Temperature profile in an advanced thermal treatment apparatus and method
Applying heat from a heat source to a first region to cause a first pyrolysis process, the first pyrolysis process resulting in a gaseous mixture, and applying heat from the heat source to a second region to cause a second pyrolysis process, the second pyrolysis process being applied to the gaseous mixture, wherein the second region is located closer to the heat source than the first region. Pyrolysis is used to destroy oils, tars and/or PAHs in carbonaceous material.
COMPACT WASTE COMBUSTION SYSTEM
A compact waste combustion system deployed within a portable toilet has a burn chamber that includes a processor, a burner, a trapdoor mechanism configured to seal an entrance to the burn chamber when the compact waste combustion system is operated in a first mode and a waste receptacle configured to feed waste material to the burn chamber through the trapdoor mechanism in a second mode of operation. The processor may be configured to detect presence of a waste in the waste receptacle, configure the system to operate in the second mode and to pass waste into the burn chamber, configure the compact waste combustion system to operate in the first mode after the waste has passed into the burn chamber, and activate the burner when the compact waste combustion system is operated in the first mode and the waste is located in the burn chamber.
Furnace using biomass pellets as fuel
A furnace using biomass pellets as fuel, comprising a housing arranged on a base, wherein the housing is internally provided with a burning chamber, the bottom of which is provided with a burning grate, and the burning chamber is connected with a primary oxygen supply device; the primary oxygen supply device comprises an oxygen supply cylinder that communicates with the outside, and the bottom end of the oxygen supply cylinder is connected with an oxygen supply pipe II configured to blow air over the burning grate, and a plurality of air outlet holes I is defined in the oxygen supply cylinder.
VOLATILIZATION AND OXIDATION OF ORGANIC WASTE
In a system and process, organic waste is treated in a reactor to volatilize contaminants such as Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) compounds and/or Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs) from the organic waste. Biochar may have reduced or undetectable PFAS compounds or CECs. Most or all of the gas may be thermally oxidized to convert PFAS compounds and/or CECs into less harmful and/or less toxic products or elemental compounds, which may be further removed. Energy may be recovered from one or more parts of the herein described system and process.
Gasification apparatus with controller for negative pressure
A gasification apparatus has a primary chamber with a floor comprising a hearth and feedstock augers, for gasification of feedstock. There is a mixing chamber for receiving through an opening synthetic gases from the primary chamber and comprising an air inlet fan for adding oxygen for ignition. There is also a secondary chamber linked with the mixing chamber to deliver heat from combustion of gases from the mixing chamber to the hearth. An outlet valve delivers gases from the secondary chamber through a heat exchanger and to an induce draft fan. A controller dynamically controls flow of gases in the chambers according to sensed pressures and temperatures in said chambers.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROCESSING OF BIOLOGICAL WASTE
The present invention provides a method and a system for processing of waste by anaerobic digestion, said method comprising pre-treatment of a first biological waste stream by thermal hydrolysis and processing of a solid fraction by pyrolysis prior to anaerobic digestion.
The present invention allows for efficient utilization of the energy available in biological waste sources. The method provides an energy efficient method for processing of biological waste having a high degree of recovery of the energy stored in the waste material, wherein the flow of material may be dynamically adjusted to e.g. achieve end products in preferred ratios.
Startup and shutdown of cleanup engine and other components in a biomass conversion system
An integrated biomass conversion system and a method of starting and shutting down the system are disclosed. The integrated biomass conversion system comprises a syngas generator, such as a gasifier, a cleanup engine and a syngas utilization system, which could be a power producing engine or a chemical reactor for chemical or fuel synthesis. The cleanup engine operates rich and at high temperatures so that the tars exhausted by the syngas generators are destroyed and not allowed to foul other components. An orderly sequence to start and shut down the integrated biomass conversion system is disclosed.
A METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PYROLYSIS AND CARBON DEPOSITION
The invention provides a method of sequential pyrolysis and carbon deposition to produce a composite carbonaceous product, the method comprising: a pyrolysis process step comprising pyrolyzing a pyrolyzable organic feed at a pyrolysis temperature in a first reaction zone in the presence of a non-oxidising gas to produce hot char and pyrolysis gas, wherein the pyrolysis gas and the non-oxidising gas combine to form a gas mixture; discharging the gas mixture from the first reaction zone to a combustion zone and combusting at least a portion of the pyrolysis gas therein, wherein heat produced by the combusting of the pyrolysis gas is transmitted from the combustion zone to the first reaction zone to provide at least a portion of the heat of pyrolysis; and a decomposition process step comprising contacting a hydrocarbon-rich organic gas with the hot char directly after its production in the pyrolysis process step, wherein the hydrocarbon-rich organic gas catalytically decomposes on the hot char at a decomposition temperature which is higher than the pyrolysis temperature, thereby producing gaseous decomposition products comprising hydrogen and a composite carbonaceous material comprising the char with carbon deposits thereon.

Tubular Boiler with Incorporated Oven
The invention relates to a tubular boiler with a heat exchange tube with at least one helical layer situated in a heat exchange chamber, and which includes a set of laterally joined spirals. The boiler includes, an inner side of the helical layer, an oven that is rigidly joined to said layer and connected to a feeder by means of which fuel is supplied. The boiler also includes an output collector for collecting ash and slag, which connects the inside of the heat exchange chamber to the outside of the boiler, and a forced-air-current generator that generates a movement of air inside the boiler and directs it to the oven. This movement of air moves the ash and slag along the at least one helical layer to the output collector.
