MULTI-DIMENSIONAL ARTICULATING USER SUPPORT EXERCISE MACHINE
Improved exercise machines having a movable user engagement member and a user support movably mounted on a movable slide support surface and a slidable wedge concurrently engaging the movable slide support surface and a stationary slide support surface and an operative linkage system connecting the user engagement and the slidable wedge such that movement of the user engagement causes the slidable wedge to engage the slide support surfaces changing the distance between at least a portion of the slide support surfaces and thereby creating a multi-dimensional articulating movement of the user support during an exercise motion.
Exercise apparatus
Apparatus suitable for pilates and other exercise comprises rails, supported on a box-like frame and an exercise carriage, mounted on the rails, wherein the carriage comprises a first carriage section and a second carriage section which sections can be (i) connected together to form a single exercise carriage which slides forwards and backwards on the rails, or (ii) disconnected to form two exercise carriages which independently slide forwards and backwards on the rails. The apparatus also has a seat with a spring-biased foot pedal and a spring-biased trapeze bar.
Exercise Machine Reversible Resistance System
An exercise machine reversible resistance system for reversing the directional force of resistance against an exercise implement before, during, or after the performance of a routine of one or more exercises. The exercise machine reversible resistance system generally includes a frame, an elongated member movably positioned upon the frame, wherein the elongated member has a first run and a second run, a resistance device that applies a resistance force to the elongated member in a single direction, an exercise implement movably connected to the frame and a clutch connected to the exercise implement. The clutch is adapted to selectively engage the first run or the second run of the elongated member for selective control of the resistance direction of the exercise implement.
Exercise Machine Resistance Adjustment System
An exercise machine resistance adjustment system for providing an exerciser the ability to immediately adjust the resistance force by changing their body position on the movable carriage or end platforms. The exercise machine resistance adjustment system generally includes a frame, a carriage movably positioned on the frame, a spring connected to the carriage to apply a biasing force to the carriage, one or more left projections within the carriage adapted for a left hand of an exerciser to grasp, and one or more right projections within the carriage adapted for a right hand of an exerciser to grasp. The exerciser is able to efficiently adjust the amount of resistance force applied to the carriage by repositioning their hands (or feet) from a first set of projections at a first distance to a second set of projections at a second distance from the first end of the exercise machine.
Adjustable Rehabilitation and Exercise Device
An adjustable rehabilitation and exercise device, including a rotary member rotatably mounted on a hub; a mount having a ring located adjacent to the rotary member with a lock selectively engageable with the rotary member to lock the ring at an angular position relative to the rotary member, and an arm connected to the ring and extending radially relative to the rotary member and having a movable carriage associated therewith to move radially relative to the rotary member and lockable to position the carriage at a radial position relative to the rotary member; and a patient engagement member connected to the mount and movable with the carriage.
Adjustable Rehabilitation and Exercise Device
An adjustable rehabilitation and exercise device, including a rotary member rotatable on a hub and having a plurality of elongated and spaced apart elongated mount receivers defined thereon; a mount selectively and movably positionable on a selected one of the mount receivers of the rotary member to select an angular location of the mount, the mount including a sliding member movably positionable along the selected mount receiver to a selected radial location along the selected mount receiver to select a radial location of the mount relative to the hub; and a patient engagement member connectable to the mount and movable with the mount.
Adjustable Rehabilitation and Exercise Device
An adjustable rehabilitation and exercise device, including a first rotary member rotatably mountable about a first hub and having a plurality of spaced apart and elongated first mount supports defined thereon; a first mount adjustably positioned on one of the first mount supports; a first patient engagement member attached to the first mount, a second rotary member rotatably mountable about a second hub the opposite the first rotary member, the second rotary member having a plurality of spaced apart and elongated second mount supports defined thereon; a second mount adjustably positioned on one of the second mount supports; and a second patient engagement member attached to the second mount. The first and second mounts are adjustably positionable on the first and second rotary members to enable adjustable positioning of the first and second patient engagement members radially relative to the first and second hubs of the rotary members and angularly relative to one another.
Adjustable Rehabilitation and Exercise Device
An adjustable rehabilitation and exercise device, including a rotary member having a plurality of elongated and spaced apart elongated open-ended slots defined thereon; a mount selectively and movably positionable on a selected one of the slots of the rotary member to select an angular location of the mount. The mount includes a sliding member movably positionable along the selected slot to a selected radial location along the selected slot to select a radial location of the mount relative to the hub of the rotary member. The mount has a slide member configured to slidingly engage the slot and a movable plunger located on the slide member, wherein the plunger is movable to engage the slot so as to lock the position of the mount along the slot; and a patient engagement member connectable to the mount and movable with the mount.
Adjustable Rehabilitation and Exercise Device
An adjustable rehabilitation and exercise device, including a rotary member rotatable about a hub and having an elongated slot defined thereon extending radially relative to the hub, the slot including a plurality of spaced apart and opposed fingers along the length of the slots, with a plurality of gaps defined between the fingers of each side of the slot; and a mount selectively and movably positionable on a selected location on the slot of the rotary member to select an angular location of the mount. The mount includes a sliding member movably positionable along the slot to a selected radial location along the selected slot to select a radial location of the mount relative to the hub of the rotary member. The sliding member is configured to slidingly engage the slot, the slide member having at least one spring loaded lock configured to engage one of the gaps to lock the position of the sliding member, and a key operable by a user to disengage the lock from the gap to enable the sliding member to be moved to another location along the slot. A patient engagement member is connectable to the mount and movable with the mount.
Rehabilitation and Exercise Device
A rehabilitation and exercise device having patient engagement members on opposite sides of a rotary member. The device includes a motor connected to the rotary member by a clutch linked to the motor. The motor is configured to desirably rotate the rotary member so that the device may serve to move the feet/legs or other extremities of a patient through a range of motion, but do not require any application of muscle force by the patient. The clutch is also operable to disconnect the motor so that the only force applied to rotary member is the muscle force of the patient. The clutch is also advantageously operable to provide continuous passive motion and enable powered movement of a desired and adjustable amount provided by the motor, yet enable desired participation by the patient in application of muscle force.
