20240360997 · 2024-10-31 · ·

A vent apparatus is used to install a tankless water heater or similar equipment inside an attic without going onto the roof. The vent apparatus may include a main housing and an umbrella assembly movably disposed therein. The main housing (e.g., PVC pipe) is installed through the roof. The umbrella assembly may have a central rod with a flexible umbrella cover on top. The umbrella assembly is pushed up through the main housing until the umbrella cover exits the top of the main housing to cover it and prevent rain from entering the main housing. The bottom of the main housing is then connected to the tankless water heater. Additional embodiments are disclosed for tankless water heaters and other equipment with an air intake port and a gas exhaust port.

Exhaust flue cap and filter device for a gas fired appliance

An exhaust flue cap and filter device for a gas fired appliance in communication with an exhaust flue opening. The device includes an inner collar to engage the exhaust flue opening. A tubular cap with a closed lower end is in communication with the inner collar. A filter tray is suspended in the tubular cap wherein the filter tray has a smaller diameter than the tubular cap so that a bypass space is formed between the filter tray and the tubular cap to permit passage of exhaust gases. A removable filter insert is receivable in the filter tray. A removable top having a body with exhaust openings is attached to and closes the open upper end of the tubular cap.

An adjustable vented chimney cap system has a cylindrical base member with vent openings and a cap member that has a cover member and a cylindrical body with vent openings. The base member may be mounted onto the chimney of a grill. The cap member may be mounted onto the base member whereby the cap member can be rotated relative to the base member such that the vent openings can be adjusted to control the amount of hot gases escaping from the grill. In some embodiments, the vent openings in the cap member and the vent openings in the base member may have the same geometry. In some embodiments, the vent openings in the cap member and vent openings in the base member may have different geometries.
