VOLATILIZATION AND OXIDATION OF ORGANIC WASTE
In a system and process, organic waste is treated in a reactor to volatilize contaminants such as Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) compounds and/or Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs) from the organic waste. Biochar may have reduced or undetectable PFAS compounds or CECs. Most or all of the gas may be thermally oxidized to convert PFAS compounds and/or CECs into less harmful and/or less toxic products or elemental compounds, which may be further removed. Energy may be recovered from one or more parts of the herein described system and process.
METHODS FOR REGENERATING A FILTER MEDIUM AND CLEANING FLUE GAS
Some non-limiting embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method of regenerating at least one filter medium, the method comprising flowing a flue gas stream through or by the at least one filter medium at a first temperature and increasing the temperature of the flue gas stream from the first temperature to a second temperature that exceeds the first temperature. Some non-limiting embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method of cleaning a flue gas stream, the method comprising maintaining the NO.sub.x removal efficiency by increasing the temperature of the flue gas stream from the first temperature to a second temperature that exceeds the first temperature.
PLANT AND METHOD FOR CARRYING OUT AN ENDOTHERMIC CHEMICAL PROCESS AND FOR SEPARATING CARBON DIOXIDE FROM FLUE GAS PRODUCED IN THE PROCESS
The plant according to the invention includes a reactor including a combustion chamber in which a fuel is fired with an oxidant to form a carbon dioxide-containing flue gas stream. The plant also includes a waste heat recovery unit in fluid connection with the combustion chamber, configured to capture heat from the flue gas stream. The plant also includes a flue gas compression unit in fluid connection with the waste heat recovery unit, configured to increase the pressure of the flue gas stream. The plant also includes a scrubber in fluid connection with the flue gas compression unit, configured to remove sulphur oxides and/or nitrogen oxides from the flue gas stream and to cool flue gas stream by means of the scrubbing medium. The plant also includes an absorption unit in fluid connection with the scrubber, configured to absorb carbon dioxide from the flue gas stream.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BIOMASS GROWTH AND PROCESSING
A system comprising a collocated thermal plant, water source, CO.sub.2 source and biomass growth module is disclosed. A method of improving the environment by utilizing the system is disclosed.

Apparatus and method for direct air capture of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere
An apparatus utilizes a membrane unit to capture components from atmospheric air, including carbon dioxide, enriches the carbon dioxide concentration, and delivers the enriched concentration of carbon dioxide to a sequestering facility. The membrane is configured such that as a first gas containing oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide is drawn through the membrane, a permeate stream is formed where the permeate stream has an oxygen concentration and a carbon dioxide concentration higher than in the first gas and a nitrogen concentration lower than in the first gas. A permeate conduit, having a vacuum applied to it by a vacuum generating device receives the permeate stream and a delivery conduit delivers at least a portion of the enriched carbon dioxide to a sequestering facility. The apparatus may comprise a component of a system where the system may have a flue gas generator and/or a secondary enrichment system disposed between the vacuum generating device and the sequestering facility.

Flue cap with filter
A flue pipe filter device for reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission levels from gas fired appliances may include a flue cap with a pipe connection adapter sized to attach to an existing exhaust pipe; a fanned flue cap body with vents operatively attached to a distal end of the pipe connection adapter; and a filter positioned within the fanned flue cap body, the filter designed to convert NOx emissions into reduced NOx emissions. The filter may have an interior honeycomb structure.
