Moving Exercise Apparatus
A Moving Exercise Apparatus is provided which enables the user to perform exercise routines, mainly for the torso area, while in a relatively laying position. The apparatus includes a frame structure member, an intermediate support member, a user support member, and a track guide member. The intermediate support member is couple to the frame structure member such that it moves upon the frame structure member along a generally linear path of motion. The user support member is coupled to the intermediate support member such that it moves upon the intermediate support member also along a generally linear path of motion, but which is generally perpendicular to the movement of the intermediate support member upon the frame structure member. A track guide member is mounted upon the frame structure member at a location below the user support member. The user moves the user support member with some portion of their body, such as their feet. The user support member operatively engages the track guide member and follows a predetermined path of motion as designated by the track guide member. Different track guide members may be utilized to provide different paths of motion. The apparatus may also include a handle member and leg support member mounted to the frame structure member so that the user may more easily move the user support member while in the laying position and exercise the arm and leg muscles.
Exercise apparatus
An exercise apparatus comprising: a foot support, a user interface that includes a visual display, the foot support being movable by the user on the frame back and forth through any one of a plurality of complete, reproducible and different arc segments of a master arcuate path, the foot support being interconnected to a selection device that enables the user to select any one of the plurality of arc segments, one or more detectors adapted to detect one or more of force, energy or power exerted by the user over time on the foot support or distance or velocity of travel of the foot support or resistance assembly during the course of the user's performance of all or a portion of an exercise cycle, the visual display displaying a visually recognizable format of one or more of the force, energy, power, distance, time or velocity.
Central resistance mechanism in an elliptical
An exercise machine includes a frame and a resistance mechanism attached to the frame. A crank assembly is in mechanical communication with the resistance mechanism, and the crank assembly includes a crank axle, a crank arm connected to the crank axle, and a roller connected to a distal end of the crank arm. A first pedal assembly is movably attached to the crank assembly and movable in a performance of an exercise. A second pedal assembly is movably attached to the crank assembly and movable in the performance of the exercise. Each of the first pedal assembly and the second pedal assembly include a pedal beam and a first tensioned element spanning at least a portion of an underside of the pedal beam. At least a portion of the resistance mechanism is disposed between the first pedal assembly and the second pedal assembly.
Lateral roller support in an elliptical
An exercise machine includes a frame and a resistance mechanism attached to the frame. A crank assembly is in mechanical communication with the resistance mechanism, and the crank assembly includes a crank arm, a roller connected to the crank arm, and at least one internal load bearing surface integrated into the roller. A pedal assembly is movably attached to the crank assembly and movable in a performance of an exercise. The pedal assembly includes a pedal beam and a tensioned element that spans a first portion of an underside of the pedal beam. The tensioned element guides the roller with at least one internal load bearing surface during the performance of the exercise.
Elliptical trainer with variable stride
An elliptical trainer with variable stride includes a base frame, a swing unit axially mounted at the base frame, a pedal unit axially mounted at the swing unit, a damping unit for providing damping resistance to the swing unit, and a constraining unit including an axle axially mounted at the base frame, a pair of upper cranks respectively affixed to two opposite ends of the axle and a pair of coupling members respectively pivotally coupled between the upper cranks and the swing unit. Mating the constraining unit with the swing unit prevents the swing unit from overswinging, enhancing user safety.
Exercise machine having a hubless rotary mechanism
An exercise machine includes a frame, a first rotary mechanism supported on the frame, a second rotary mechanism rotatably engaging with the first rotary mechanism, and a driving mechanism operatively coupled to the second rotary mechanism and configured to impart rotation of the second rotary mechanism while the driving mechanism is being actuated. The second rotary mechanism is hubless. The second rotary mechanism is configured to absorb and retain an amount of the actuation of the driving mechanism as a moment of inertia while the second rotary mechanism rotates.
Elliptical climbing exercise apparatus
An elliptical climbing exercise apparatus includes a base frame, a swing unit including a pair of swing arms, a pedal unit including a pair of pedal shafts respectively pivotally connected to the swing arms, a damping unit including a rotating wheel with a spindle, a guiding unit including a pair of cranks respectively affixed to the two opposite ends of the spindle, a pair of rockers respectively pivotally connected to the cranks and a pair of links respectively pivotally connected to the rocker. Cooperation between the base frame, the swing unit, the pedal unit, the resistance unit and the guiding unit is used to achieve a training of the leg muscles.
Exercise methods and apparatus
An exercise apparatus may provide a novel linkage assembly suitable for linking circular motion to relatively more complex, generally elliptical motion. Left and right rocker links may be rotatably mounted on a frame rotatable about a first axis. Left and right rocker linkages may be mounted on the frame rotatable about a second axis. Left and right force receiving members may be movably connected between respective rocker links and rocker linkages in such a manner that the force receiving members move through paths of motion which are fixed, adjustable or variable.
Elliptical exercise device
An elliptical exercise device has a frame supporting guide links and foot support links. A cam system has a vertical control cam portion. Vertical control followers are pivotally connected to a vertical follower support. Mechanical vertical control couplings couple the foot support links to the vertical control followers. A foot receiving area of each foot support link moves in a generally elliptical path when the cam portion rotates about the cam axis.
Drive Mechanism with Foot Platform Angle Adjustment Mechanism for Elliptically-Driven Device
A drive mechanism for an elliptically-driven device includes a drive arm with a foot platform pivot assembly; a crank arm; a foot platform assembly pivotally coupled to the drive arm via the foot platform pivot assembly; a foot platform angle adjustment mechanism operably coupling the foot platform assembly to the crank arm so as to impart a foot platform angle of the foot platform assembly relative to the drive arm that varies during a stroke of the foot platform assembly.
