Oxy-combustion process with modular boiler design
A modular boiler system for implementing fuel combustion is provided. The system includes a first boiler and a second boiler of a plurality of boilers, an oxygen input unit, a fuel input unit, a recycled flue gas input unit, and a flue gas separator. The first boiler receives oxygen from the oxygen input unit, fuel from the fuel input unit, and recycled flue gas from the recycled flue gas input unit. The first boiler outputs intra-system flue gas. The flue gas separator separates the intra-system flue gas into a first and second flue gas stream, transfers the first flue gas stream to the second boiler, and transfers the second flue gas stream to a gas cleaning system. The second boiler receives oxygen from the oxygen input unit, fuel from the fuel input unit, and the first flue gas stream from the flue gas separator.
Carbon Capture System Comprising a Gas Turbine
A method and a plant for capturing CO2 from an incoming flue gas. The flue gas can be exhaust gas from coal and gas fired power plants, cement factories or refineries. The incoming exhaust gas is cooled, mixed with air and compressed, and thereafter introduced into a combustion chamber together with gas and/or liquid fuel. Part of the combustion is achieved by separate burners with cooling/combustion air feed with a volume equal to the volume of CO2 captured. Said burners will elevate the temperature in the combustion chamber allowing combustion of exhaust gas with low oxygen content. CO2 is captured at high partial pressure before expansion by the gas turbine to produce power and generate steam in the heat recovery unit. The gas turbine will operate with high efficiency close to design parameters with respect to inlet temperature, pressure and flow.
COMBINED COOLING, HEATING AND POWER SYSTEM
A combined cooling, heating and power system is formed by integrating a CO.sub.2 and ORC cycle systems, and an LNG cold energy utilization system on the basis of an SOFC/GT hybrid power generation system. The combined systems provide utilization of energy and low carbon dioxide emission. The SOFC/GT is used as a prime mover, high-temperature, medium-temperature, and low-temperature waste heat of the system are recovered through a CO.sub.2 and ORC cycles, cold energy (for air conditioning and refrigeration), heat, power, natural gas, ice, and dry ice is provided by using LNG as a cold source of the CO.sub.2 cycle and the ORC cycle, and low carbon dioxide emission of the system is achieved by condensation and separation of CO.sub.2 from flue gas, so energy losses of the combined system is reduced, and efficient and cascade utilization of energy is achieved, thereby providing energy conservation and emission reduction effect.
PROCESS FOR OBTAINING CARBON DIOXIDE FROM FURNACE COMBUSTION FUMES
A process for obtaining carbon dioxide from furnace combustion fumes is provided. The process comprises removing water vapour occurring in combustion fumes through successive gas compression and expansion steps; separating carbon dioxide from oxygen and nitrogen through the use of a filter comprising a gas-separating material, including fullerenes and zeolites, to obtain substantially pure gaseous carbon dioxide; subsequently optionally producing dry ice through further steps of compression and expansion of the substantially pure gaseous carbon dioxide obtained in the preceding steps.
System and method for plastic waste disposal
This invention provides a system or method that includes combustion of mixed content solid waste to produce flue gases and separation of carbon dioxide gas in the produced combustion flue gas from other gaseous constituents of the flue gas in an amount produced from the burning of plastic material contained in the mixed content solid waste. The separated carbon dioxide is sequestered in geologic formations, thereby providing environmentally sound disposal and elimination of plastic waste, in one consolidated process, free of the need for separation of plastic waste from other solid or the need to identify and separate the various forms and compositions of plastic waste material. The illustrative disposal of plastic waste hereby is generally free of emission into the atmosphere of carbon dioxide gas. The invention includes a fee-generation process applied to customers, which can quantified and generated in association with the application of the system or method.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CAPTURING CARBON DIOXIDE DURING COMBUSTION OF CARBON CONTAINING FUEL
A boiler system having a series of boilers. Each boiler includes a shell having an upstream end, a downstream end, and a hollow interior. The boilers also have an oxidizer inlet entering the hollow interior adjacent the upstream end of the shell and a fuel nozzle positioned adjacent the upstream end of the shell for introducing fuel into the hollow interior of the shell. Each boiler includes a flue duct connected to the shell adjacent the downstream end for transporting flue gas from the hollow interior. Oxygen is delivered to the oxidizer inlet of the first boiler in the series. Flue gas from the immediately preceding boiler in the series is delivered through the oxidizer inlet of each boiler subsequent to the first boiler in the series.
Square packed tower for capturing flue gas carbon dioxide
The present invention is related a square packed tower for collection of flue gas CO.sub.2. The square packed tower comprises an initial absorbent distributor on the lower end of the flue gas outlet, a vertical plate packer on the lower end of the initial absorbent distributor and a radial diversion gas distributor at the bottom of the square packed tower for delivery of carbon dioxide contained in the flue gas. The radial diversion gas distributor comprises a gas inlet pipe, a butterfly base plate, a butterfly seal plate and numerous radial deflectors. The butterfly base plate is connected with outlet of the gas inlet pipe. The radial deflectors are in radial arrangement between the butterfly base plate and butterfly seal plate along the outlet of gas inlet pipe.
Building Emission Processing and/or Sequestration Systems and Methods
Systems and/or methods are provided for the capture of carbon dioxide from flue gas generated within a building.
CARBON CAPTURE SYSTEM COMPRISING A GAS TURBINE WITH TWO BURNERS
A carbon capture system includes a CO2-containing flue gas from any CO2 producing source connected to a first flue gas compressor of a gas turbine with a corresponding first turbine expander and a generator driven by said gas turbine. The gas turbine includes a first burner and a second burner, wherein the second burner utilizes at least a non-carbon fuel such as Hydrogen (H2) or Ammonia (NH3), so as for increasing a temperature of a first relatively hot compressed CO2-lean flue gas to a second relatively hotter compressed CO2-lean flue gas for being fed into said first expander.
