ASH DISCHARGE SYSTEM

An ash discharge system has a conveyor device which transports clinker ash out of a region that is below a furnace bottom of a boiler furnace; and a separation device provided at a passage of the clinker ash from the furnace bottom to the conveyor device, the separation device including a separator which permits the clinker ash with a predetermined size or less to pass through the separator, and inhibits a large-mass clinker from passing through the separator, the large-mass clinker being the clinker ash with a size larger than the predetermined size.

Simplified submerged chain conveyor for bottom ash conversions

A simplified submerged chain conveyor system for handling ash produced by large-scale coal fired boilers. The system incorporates an endless chain conveyor system moving a coal/ash aqueous mixture within a conveyor segment having a hydraulically closed duct. The system is adapted for retrofit applications of existing coal-fired boiler installations. In each embodiment the chain conveyor elevates the aqueous ash solution to dewater the ash. In several embodiments the boiler ash hopper is partially flooded with water and the system moves the ash mixture through a water column to the dewatering section. In one embodiment the ash mixture is not submersed but is subjected to water sprays before reaching the dewatering section. Great flexibility is provided in locating and positioning the conveyor system. One unit may be implemented to provide ash handling for multiple boilers. Embodiments are described operable in continuous or batch mode processes.

Gasifier system

A gasifier system for reducing the particle size of non-gas byproducts of the gasification process. The gasifier system generally includes a grinder that permits uninterrupted syngas flow during gasification of biomass that contains high amounts of silica and/or salts. The described system and method incorporates a grinder that breaks apart the resultant non-gas byproducts into finer particles that may be flushed out of a gasifier using the syngas stream. The particles may then be easily separated from the gas stream in a separator and collected in a char or waste bin for removal/disposal.

The present invention reveals a method for obtaining a solid product comprising the cremated ashes of a human being or animal, inside a vessel, comprising the following steps: separating the ashes produced as a result of cremating a body, determining the ashes produced by the body itself and the ashes produced from other elements present during cremation; grinding the ashes produced from the separated human ashes; introducing the ashes and a wax composition into a vessel and closing the vessel with a lid; (iv) heating the vessel, subjecting it to centrifugation and cooling the vessel. It likewise discloses a solid product comprising cremated human or animal ashes inside a vessel, obtained as a result of the method and a case containing said solid product.

Burner and Method of Operation

The invention relates to particular burners, particularly to non-premixed or partially-premixed fuel burners with flexibility to oxygen enrich the burner. Accordingly, said burners may be used in applications that needs operation of a burner in both air-fuel, and/or oxy-fuel and/or air-oxy-fuel mode depending on furnace operation needs. The invention further relates to furnaces including the burners and methods of operating the burners.

Method of and apparatus for combusting sulfurous fuel in a circulating fluidized bed boiler

Sulfurous fuel and CaCO.sub.3-containing sorbent are combusted in a furnace of a circulating fluidized bed boiler. A dry circulating fluidized bed scrubber includes a reactor with water and Ca(OH).sub.2 feeds for converting SO.sub.2 in the exhaust gas to CaSO.sub.3 and CaSO.sub.4 and a dust separator in gas flow connection with the reactor. A discharge removes CaO-containing bottom ash from the furnace. A classifier classifies a portion of the removed CaO-containing bottom ash into coarse and finer portions. A fine ash channel conveys some of the finer bottom ash portion from the classifier to a grinder. A ground ash channel conveys some of the ground bottom ash portion from the grinder to a hydrator to hydrate CaO in the ash to Ca(OH).sub.2. A hydrated ash channel conveys some of the Ca(OH).sub.2 from the hydrator to the dry circulating fluidized bed scrubber as a sorbent.

System and mechanism for bottom ash feed regulation to a low capacity conveyor

A system and mechanism for bottom ash flow turndown from a hopper, through a crusher, and to a conveyor, the system including a fixed flow restrictor and a variable speed side discharge crusher to modulate bottom ash flow in the absence of gate or valve flow from a hopper, the conveyor providing a signal corresponding to an overfeed condition to enable a controller to operate the crusher and/or the conveyor to eliminate overfeed conditions.
