Effluent gas treatment apparatus and method
A treatment apparatus for treating an effluent gas includes a combustion chamber; a burner; an inlet for receiving secondary combustion air; an exhaust gas outlet for outputting exhaust gases from the combustion chamber; and a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is configured to exchange heat between a first fluid and a second fluid flowing through respective first and second fluid flow paths. The first fluid flow path is connected to the inlet and the second fluid flow path is connected to the outlet such that the exhaust gases received at the outlet flow into the second fluid flow path. The heat exchanger comprises a fluid flow communication path for providing a path for flow of a portion of the exhaust gases from the second fluid into the first fluid; and at least one inlet aperture for inputting the first fluid to the combustion chamber.
GAS TURBINE COMBUSTOR
A combustor of an embodiment includes: a cylindrical combustor liner; and a fuel nozzle which is provided at one end of the combustor liner and jets a fuel and an oxidant into the combustor liner. The fuel nozzle includes: a plurality of fuel supply passages which each supply the fuel; and a plurality of oxidant supply passages which each supply the oxidant. Flow rates of the fuel supplied to the respective fuel supply passages and flow rates of the oxidant supplied to the respective oxidant supply passages are each individually regulated.
Fuel staging in a gas turbine engine
A gas turbine system includes a turbine combustor. The turbine combustor includes one or more first fuel injectors coupled to a head end of the turbine combustor and configured to deliver a first portion of a fuel to a first axial position of a combustion section of the turbine combustor. The turbine combustor also includes one or more second fuel injectors coupled to the turbine combustor axially downstream of the head end and configured to deliver a second portion of the fuel to a second axial position of the combustion section of the turbine combustor, the second axial position being downstream of the first axial position. The gas turbine system also includes a controller configured to deliver the first and the second portions of the fuel such that combustion of the fuel and oxidant within the overall combustion section of the turbine combustor is at a defined equivalence ratio.
Industrial furnace and process for controlling the combustion inside
Industrial furnace (1) which can be used for example for treating semi-finished and siderurgical products, metal and inorganic materials, comprising a) a hot chamber (3) in which a combustion takes place and the hot gases generated by the combustion come in direct contact with the materials to be treated (p) in the furnace itself; B) a combustion stabilizing system in turn comprising b1) an injection system in turn comprising at least a mixer (11) arranged to mix a fuel and a diluent before injecting them into the hot chamber (3). The diluent has the effect of reducing the amount of nitrogen oxides in the combustion products. It considerably reduces the consumption of required diluent and the Nox emissions in the fumes.
System and method for high efficiency power generation using a carbon dioxide circulating working fluid
The present invention provides methods and system for power generation using a high efficiency combustor in combination with a CO.sub.2 circulating fluid. The methods and systems advantageously can make use of a low pressure ratio power turbine and an economizer heat exchanger in specific embodiments. Additional low grade heat from an external source can be used to provide part of an amount of heat needed for heating the recycle CO.sub.2 circulating fluid. Fuel derived CO.sub.2 can be captured and delivered at pipeline pressure. Other impurities can be captured.
COMBUSTION SYSTEM USING, AS AN OXIDIZER, A MIXTURE OF MOLECULAR OXYGEN AND A DEHUMIDIFIED GAS OBTAINED FROM COMBUSTION FUMES
A combustion system including a unit for producing oxidizing gas, a combustion apparatus, a unit for condensing the combustion fumes by bringing the combustion fumes into contact with at least one coolant liquid, a recycler, and a unit for providing molecular oxygen. The unit for producing oxidizing gas makes it possible to supply the combustion apparatus with an oxidizing gas originating from the mixing of molecular oxygen and the recycled portion of the dehumidified gas. The combustion system also includes a regulating unit having the function of automatically regulating the temperature of the coolant liquid of the condensing unit and/or a heater for heating the recycled portion of the dehumidified gas.
Method for Enhancing Combustion Reactions in High Heat Transfer Environments
The present invention relates to a method of combusting a fuel gas with a stoichiometric or near stoichiometric amount of molecular oxygen in the presence of a controlled amount of a diluent to enhance the extent of combustion reactions in high heat transfer environment. The energy released is utilized to heat a fluid by direct contact with the flame. The diluent can be different from the fluid to be heated with respect to composition, temperature or pressure. The diluent can be same as or derived from the fluid to be heated.
