Booster burner
A booster burner of the present disclosure basically has a burning unit, an air blower disposed at a rear end of a burning chamber of the burning unit and a high-pressure gas providing unit; wherein the burning unit has a fuel bucket for storing fuel and a burning chamber having a tubular shape, interior of the burning chamber has at least one nozzle, at least one fuel tube coupled to the fuel bucket is disposed at each the nozzle; and the high-pressure gas supplying unit has a gas storage bucket for storing high-pressure gas, each the nozzle is installed with a high-pressure pipe coupled to the gas storage bucket. Through the high-pressure gas, the slight atomization and acceleration effect is applied to the fuel which enters the nozzle, such that fuel molecules are refined and more completely burned, and the objective of increasing the fuel burning efficiency is achieved.
Fluid fuel heater to heat air and a method for operating said heater
A movable fluid fuel heater to heat air and to introduce it into an environment to be heated. The heater includes a flow rate variator device for varying the flow rate of oxidizing air introduced in the combustion chamber by a forced ventilation device between a minimum flow rate value and a maximum flow rate value. The heater also includes a reference device comprising a plurality of reference values of a parameter representative of the pressure and a plurality of reference temperature values of the environmental air upstream of the combustion chamber. The reference device is configured to suggest an optimal setting value to set the flow rate variator device, at each pair of values formed by a value of the plurality of reference values of a parameter representative of the pressure and a value of the plurality of reference temperature values.
Apparatus and method for operating a gas-fired burner on liquid fuels
A gas-fired burner adapted for use on a liquid fuel. A method for essentially smokeless start-up and steady state operation of a gas-fired burner on a liquid fuel. The apparatus integrates a catalytic liquid fuel reformer with a flame burner designed for operation on a gaseous fuel of high Wobbe Index, e.g., natural gas. The method involves reacting a mixture of a liquid fuel and oxidant in a catalytic reformer to obtain a gaseous reformate having a low Wobbe Index; and thereafter combusting the gaseous reformate, optionally augmented with liquid co-fuel and oxidant, in the gas-fired burner under diffusion flame conditions. The invention allows commercial gas-fired appliances to be operated on a liquid fuel, thereby offering advantages in logistics and camp operations.

Radiant boiler for pressurized oxy-combustion and method of radiant trapping to control heat flux in high temperature particle-laden flows at elevated pressure
A boiler has a shell surrounding a vertical centerline. The shell defines an inner surface having an inner diameter and an inner length extending between an upper upstream end and a lower downstream end. The inner surface defines a hollow interior, the boiler having a pre-combustion zone, a combustion zone downstream from the pre-combustion zone, and a post-combustion zone downstream from the combustion zone. The shell is tapered outward along its length in at least a portion of the combustion zone. An oxidizer inlet is in fluid communication with the pre-combustion zone, and a fuel nozzle introduces fuel into the combustion zone. A tube assembly is mounted in the hollow interior of the shell for transferring heat to fluid flowing through the tube assembly. A flue duct is in fluid communication with the post-combustion zone for transporting flue gases from the hollow interior.
Systems and methods for avoiding harmonic modes of gas burners
A gas burner system has a gas burner with a conduit through which an air-gas mixture is conducted; a variable-speed forced-air device that forces air through the conduit; a control valve that controls a supply of gas for mixture with the air to thereby form the air-gas mixture; and an electrode configured to ignite the air-gas mixture so as to produce a flame. The electrode is further configured to measure a flame ionization current associated with the flame. A controller is configured to actively control the variable-speed forced-air device based on the flame ionization current measured by the electrode so as to automatically avoid a flame harmonic mode of the gas burner. Corresponding methods are provided.
Combustion device
The combustion device includes: a burner; an igniter; a fuel supply unit that supplies fuel to the burner; a blower fan that supplies air for combustion; an exhaust port that discharges combustion exhaust; a device control unit that, before ignition of fuel supplied to the burner by operation of the igniter, performs air purge of the burner at a predetermined air blowing amount by driving the blower fan; and a setting means that is set when a check valve for preventing back flow of exhaust is connected to the exhaust port. When the setting means is set to indicate that the check valve is connected, the device control unit controls the operation of the blower fan so that slow-start air purge is performed in which the time interval from the start of air purge until the predetermined air blowing amount is reached becomes longer, than in the case in which no such check valve is connected.
