The invention relates to a method for the thermal disposal of pollutants in industrial gases, wherein, in order to generate a flame for burning the pollutants, a fuel gas and oxygen are fed into a combustion chamber (19) of a burner (1), where they are then ignited, wherein a diluent gas is fed in in order to reduce the calorific value of the gas mixture relative to the fuel gas, while the throughput of the diluent gas is regulated as a function of the composition of the industrial gas in order to adapt the gas mixture consisting of diluent gas and fuel gas. The invention also relates to a burner (1) for generating a flame (2) in a combustion chamber (19) for burning pollutants in an industrial gas, and to a waste-gas treatment device having at least one burner (1) arranged in a combustion chamber (19).

Method and heating unit for flame monitoring during gas combustion
11821627 · 2023-11-21 · ·

A method of monitoring a flame during gas combustion in a combustion chamber (10). A heating unit (1) has an evaluation unit, an extraction line (11) and a sensor (12). The sensor (12) is arranged in the extraction line (11) to detect thermal substance properties of the gas. Thus, it is determined if it is ambient air (B), a non-combusted fuel-air mixture (C) or particularly the hydrogen-air mixture, or a waste gas (A) generated during combustion. The sensor (12) transmits a recorded measured value to the evaluation unit. The evaluation unit uses the measured value to determine whether ambient air (B), the non-combusted fuel-air mixture (C), or waste gas (A) is flowing through the extraction line (11) and thereby determines whether the flame is burning or extinguished.

LOW NOX GAS BURNER WITH COOLED FLUE GAS RECYCLE

A burner and methods of using the burner. The burner produces a flame from combustion air and fuel gas. Flue gas, also produced, can be withdrawn and recycled to the burner. A cooling or condition gas, such as ambient air, may be mixed with the flue gas to reduce its temperature. The burner may also utilize a stage injection so that a portion of the produced flue gas is recycled internally.

Burner control system

A burner control system for improving burner performance and efficiency may determine fuel and air channel or manifold parameters. Determination of parameters may be performed with a sensor connected across the air and fuel channels. A signal from the sensor may control the parameters which in turn affect the amounts of fuel and air to the burner via a controller. Parameter control of the fuel and air in their respective channels may result in more accurate fuel and air ratio control. One or more flow restrictors in fuel and/or air bypass channels may further improve accuracy of the fuel and air ratio. The channels may be interconnected with a pressure or flow divider. Byproducts of combustion in the exhaust, temperatures of gas and air, flame quality and/or other items may be monitored and adjusted with control of the fuel and air ratio for optimum combustion in the burner.

METHOD AND ASSEMBLY FOR CONTROLLING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE HAVING MULTIPLE BURNERS
20220252264 · 2022-08-11 ·

A method and an assembly for controlling an internal combustion engine having multiple burners is provided. Combustion measurement data is collected in a burner-specific manner for each burner and assigned to a burner identification identifying the respective burner. Performance measurement data of the internal combustion engine is also collected and used to determine a performance value. A machine learning model is trained by means of the combustion measurement data, the associated burner identifications and the performance measurement data, to generate burner-specific control data which optimizes the performance value when the burners are actuated in a burner-specific manner using the control data. The control data generated by the trained machine learning model is output for the burner-specific actuation of the burners.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A GAS TURBINE

A method for controlling a gas turbine, having a measurement step, a prediction step which is carried out after the measurement step, and a control step which is carried out after the prediction step. In the measurement step, a state variable of a combustion within a gas turbine is measured. In the prediction step, a future combustion dynamic is predicted using the measured state variable. In the control step, a control signal is output using the prediction of the future combustion dynamic.
