Gas Hearth Improvements
An improved gas fireplace hearth provides a controller and can perform new features. A pressure sensor may be provided to communicate to the controller to warn of a drop of inlet gas pressure to indicate a problem with gas service rather than the hearth. An ambient temperature sensor can provide an input to the controller for various features including a safety feature to shut off gas flow if the hearth becomes too hot. The hearth can be made more efficient by having the controller implement a zero voltage alternating current system to adjust the speed of the fan, flame height, lighting, BTU output or other feature.
Combustion monitoring system
Systems, methods, and computer readable medium are provided for determining interferometric data and spectral data associated with combustion conditions of a flame in a combustion chamber using a sensor head including a first vacuum cavity, a diaphragm operatively interfaced to an inner portion of the combustion chamber, and an optical sensor interrogator configured on a computing device and coupled to the sensor head via optical fibers. The optical sensor interrogator including an interferometer configured to determine interferometric data associated with the flame based on light transmitted and reflected via a first optical fiber and a spectrometer configured to determine spectral data associated with the flame based on light transmitted via a second optical fiber.
Reactor safety devices and methods
A reactor safety device includes a leg and a well. The leg includes an inlet and an outlet. The inlet is in fluid communication with an outlet of a reactor configured to operate at a pressure less than atmospheric pressure at a location of the reactor safety device. The well includes an inlet in fluid communication with the outlet of the leg. There is a first level in the leg and a second level in the well. The outlet of the leg is vertically lower than the second level. A level sensor is configured to monitor the first level and a controller in communication with the level sensor, a fuel inlet into the reactor, and an oxidant inlet into the reactor. The controller is configured to close the fuel inlet and the oxidant inlet when the first level changes by a predetermined amount.
Systems and methods for checking status of a pressure transducer
A method of controlling a gas furnace system includes controlling a motor of a draft inducer coupled to a conduit to increase a speed of the motor from a stopped condition in response to a call for heat, and receiving pressure signals output by a pressure transducer responsive to pressure in the conduit. Signals indicating whether a pressure switch responsive to pressure in the conduit is in a first state or a second state are received. A first status of the pressure transducer is determined based on the received pressure signals from the pressure transducer and the signals indicating whether the pressure switch is in the first state or the second state. The method includes continuing to operate the motor when the first status does not indicate that the pressure transducer is unreliable, and stopping the motor when the first status indicates that the pressure transducer is unreliable.
ANOMALY DETECTION DEVICE AND DISPLAY DEVICE
An anomaly detection device detects an abnormal condition of a coal-fired boiler and includes a correlation calculating unit to acquire an index representing a correlation between a first parameter and a second parameter, the first parameter that is any one of a power generation amount and a first physical quantity, and the second parameter that is any one of a pressure of an exhaust gas and a second physical quantity and an anomaly determination unit configured to detect the abnormal condition in a case in which the index deviates from a predetermined range.
Standing pilot igniter for oilfield separators
An electronically controlled burner management system for oilfield separators. The system includes an autonomous standing pilot spark ignition that includes a self-aligning clamp that holds the igniter to the burner nozzle. The self-aligning clamp enables rapid installation and removal, lowering the total cost of ownership. The autonomous spark ignition system incorporates temperature sensors to determine when the standing pilot needs to be relit, and can shut off the gas or other fuel flow to the standing pilot and the main burner when the pilot is not lit. The system increases oil and gas production from the well, reduces fugitive emissions of unburned gas, and improves oilfield worker safety. When installed or retrofitted into an existing oilfield separator, the original burner control components are left in place, allowing the user to revert to traditional operation in case of failure of any electronic component of the present system.
COMBUSTOR OF GAS TURBINE ENGINE
A combustor of a gas turbine engine includes a combustion chamber, pilot fuel supply unit configured to supply solely auxiliary fuel to a flame holding region in the combustion chamber, first auxiliary fuel amount adjustment unit configured to adjust an amount of the auxiliary fuel supplied from the pilot fuel supply unit, main fuel supply unit configured to supply unburned gas and the auxiliary fuel to an unburned gas combustion region in the combustion chamber continuous with the flame holding region, and second auxiliary fuel amount adjustment unit configured to adjust an amount of the auxiliary fuel, in which the first auxiliary fuel amount adjustment unit is configured to adjust the amount of the auxiliary fuel supplied from the pilot fuel supply unit to an amount for flame holding in the flame holding region throughout an operation of the gas turbine engine.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF CONFIGURING A HEATING SYSTEM
The present disclosure addresses systems, media, and methods of configuring a heating system comprising a plurality of combustion-type heating devices fluidly coupled to a vent system. Configuring the heating system includes receiving operating pressure data from one or more pressure sensors in a flue of one of combustion-type heating devices and the vent system. The operating pressure data from the one or more pressure sensors is indicative of a pressure at a corresponding location in the vent system. Configuring the heating system further includes comparing the operating pressure data to stored operational pressure data indicative of operational pressure ranges indicative of permissible operating parameters associated with preventing backflow of flue gases into the one of combustion-type heating devices and outputting instructions for a damper to at least partially open or at least partially close based at least in part on the operating pressure data and the stored operational pressure data.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FUEL NOZZLE CLEANING DURING ENGINE OPERATION
A method and system for cleaning a fuel nozzle during engine operation is provided. Operations include operating the compressor section to provide the flow of oxidizer at a first oxidizer flow condition to the combustion chamber, wherein the first oxidizer flow condition comprises an environmental parameter; operating the fuel system at a first fuel flow condition to produce a fuel-oxidizer ratio at the combustion chamber; comparing the environmental parameter to a first environmental parameter threshold; and transitioning the fuel system to a second fuel flow condition corresponding to a cleaning condition at the fuel nozzle if the environmental parameter is equal to or greater than the first environmental threshold.
AUTOMATIC AIR-FLOW SETTINGS IN COMBUSTION SYSTEMS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
Systems and methods iteratively solve a fired-systems model of the process heater based on fuel information, a target heat release of the plurality of burners, ambient air information, and available airflow at each of the plurality of burners to identify optimized burner air register settings to achieve a target global excess oxygen level to be sensed by the oxygen sensor. The optimized burner air register settings may be output to a heater controller of the process heater for control of the process heater.
