Burner management system
The present disclosure provides a burner management system (BMS) for an industrial gas appliance and method for controlling a warm-up operation of the industrial gas appliance. The BMS and control method only requires a subset of the burners to be provided with flame detectors. In accordance with one aspect, the method involves lighting a supervised burner by providing a fuel gas flow thereto; continuously detecting a flame at the supervised burner indicating that the supervised burner is lit; incrementally lighting non-supervised burners by providing the fuel gas flow thereto when a non-supervised burner status indicates a safe lighting condition, the non-supervised burner status being determined by: measuring a total fuel gas flowing to the plurality of burners; and determining the number of the non-supervised burners with the fuel gas flowing thereto from the measurement of the total fuel gas and a supervised burner status.

A pre-startup control method for a boiler or water heater includes: providing a controller operatively coupled to a boiler or water heater unit; performing a unit shutdown operation; enabling a pre-start up mode; at about a same time or in any order, moving an air fuel valve by a controller to a non-off position with a gas supply to the water heater or boiler turned off, wherein the controller turns on a blower at an operational level, and causes an ignitor to spark; and displaying parameters which allow an affirmation of a safe and reliable ignition prior to a gas turn on of the boiler or water heater unit. A flow balancing method and a programmed auto run method are also described.
GAS COOKING APPLIANCE
A cooking appliance is disclosed that according to one embodiment includes a plurality of gas burners, an electrode associated with each burner for igniting the flame, a flame sensor associated with each burner for monitoring the flame and at least one electric switch associated with an actuator that is transitional between open and closed positions. The cooking appliance also includes a control unit electrically connected to the electrodes, the flame sensors, and the switch. When the switch assumes the closed position, the control unit is activated and then in turn powers the electrodes and the flame sensors. Thereafter, the control unit sequentially monitors the presence or absence of flame in the burners during repeated time cycles.
Pre-mixed fuel burner with perforated flame holder
A combustion system such as a furnace or boiler includes a perforated reaction holder configured to hold a combustion reaction that produces very low oxides of nitrogen (NOx).
Porous medium premixing combustor
A porous-medium premixing combustor is provided, which includes: an air-fuel gas mixer, a combustor body, a thermocouple, an ignition electrode, and a detecting electrode. The combustor body includes a casing connected to the air-fuel gas mixer; an outer and an inner burner-block, wherein the outer burner-block and the casing are connected, forming a square chamber, and the inner burner-block is provided inside the square chamber, with a via hole communicating with a pipe; and a mixed gas distributing plate, an ordered porous plate, a small-pore foamed ceramic plate, and a big-pore foamed-ceramic plate sequentially provided along an axis direction of the via hole of the inner burner-block. The thermocouple is provided at the casing and extends into the square chamber. The ignition electrode is provided close to an end of the big-pore foamed-ceramic plate. The detecting electrode is provided close to an exit end of the big-pore foamed-ceramic plate.
DUAL-GAS SOURCE GAS CONTROL SYSTEM WITH ANTI-GAS SOURCE MISCONNECTION AND CONTROL CIRCUIT THEREOF
A dual-gas source gas control system with anti-gas source misconnection and a control circuit thereof belonging to the gas combustion technical field are provided. The disclosure solves unreasonable design and other problems in the related art. The dual-gas source gas control system with anti-gas source misconnection and the control circuit thereof includes a power-on circuit, connected in series with an external power supply and an igniter switch to form a loop, including a self-locking switch triode connected in series with the external power supply and a self-locking amplifying triode connected to a base electrode of the self-locking switch triode; an MCU control circuit, including an MCU control chip, wherein the power-on circuit is connected to a power input pin of the MCU control chip, one pin on the MCU control chip is configured to detect whether the power-on circuit is connected.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MITIGATING PREMIX BURNER COMBUSTION TONE
A method of calibrating a furnace includes determining a first flame stabilization period for the furnace that avoids detachment of a flame from a burner within a burner box of the furnace, determining a second flame stabilization period that is longer than the first flame stabilization period and avoids emission of a combustion tone from the furnace, and configuring a controller of the same or another furnace to utilize a flame stabilization period that has a duration between the first and second flame stabilization periods. Each flame stabilization period commences upon ignition of a premixed mixture of air and fuel at the burner while an inducer fan operates within a first range of fan speeds, and terminates when the rotational speed of the inducer fan increases to a second range speeds that is greater than the entire first range.
COMBUSTION SYSTEM WITH WIDE TURNDOWN COAL BURNER
A combustion system for a coal fired furnace having a windbox includes a source of a mixture of pulverized coal and air, and a splitter that receives the mixture and splits it into first and second mixed streams. A first nozzle receives the first mixed stream and discharges it into the furnace. A separator receives the second mixed stream and separates it into an air stream and a coal rich stream. An air conduit connected between the separator and the source of the mixture causes at least some of the air stream to be fed back into the mixture. A second nozzle receives the coal rich stream and discharges it into the furnace. A third nozzle receives support air from the windbox and discharges it into the furnace in a combustion supporting relationship with respect to the coal rich stream.
Cooktop appliance with a gas burner assembly
A gas burner assembly for a cooktop appliance includes a normally aspirated primary burner and a concentrically-positioned forced air boost burner. A dual-outlet solenoid valve receives fuel from a fuel source and selectively directs the fuel to a first solenoid outlet in fluid communication with the primary burner and a second solenoid outlet in fluid communication with the boost burner. The solenoid valve is positionable in a first position where the first solenoid outlet is substantially open and the second solenoid outlet is substantially closed and a second position where the first solenoid outlet is partially open and the second solenoid outlet is substantially open.
