PROCESSES AND SYSTEMS FOR ANALYZING IMAGES OF A FLARE BURNER
Methods and systems for monitoring a flare burner with a camera. The methods and systems which may indicate to operators the presence or absence of one or more of smoke, flare flame, and steam plume and record those indications or measurements. Additionally, the methods and systems may confirm whether compliance with local regulations on visual emissions, smoke plume is achieved. The methods and systems automatically adjust the delivery rate of key inputs including measures assist fuel gas, purge gas, steam and/or air simultaneously to maintain or attain compliance with said local regulatory requirements. Also, methods for a machine learning process for using controller inputs to identify normal and abnormal flare states and provide visual indications and flare operation recommendations.
AUTONOMOUS BURNER
Methods of autonomously controlling hydrocarbon burners described herein include capturing an image, for example from a video feed, of an operating burner; processing the image to form an image data set; capturing sensor data of the operating burner; forming a data set comprising the sensor data and the image data set; providing the data set to a machine learning model system; outputting, from the machine learning model system, an air control parameter of the burner; and applying the air control parameter to the burner.

The sensor system includes a reflective surface configured to reflect optical features corresponding to combustion in a combustion chamber that exit the combustion chamber via at least one opening therein. The sensor system further includes an optical sensor configured to receive the reflected optical features from the reflective surface.
Method and arrangement for controlling a burner of a suspension smelting furnace
A method and an arrangement for controlling a burner of a suspension smelting furnace. The burner includes a reaction gas feeding device, and a fine solids feeding device. The fine solids feeding device being at an upstream end of the fine solids feeding device pivotably supported in the reaction gas feeding device. The burner including by at least one first mechanical actuator configured to center the fine solids feeding device in the annular reaction gas outlet opening. Said at least one first mechanical actuator being in response to receiving the control signal configured to perform a centering action to center the fine solids channel in the annular reaction gas outlet opening.
Test apparatus for estimating liquid droplet fallout
A method is for determining information about liquid droplet fallout during operation of a gas-liquid flare apparatus. The method includes disposing a plurality of tiles in a spaced apart fashion over a monitoring area. A gas hydrocarbon fuel is injected into the gas-liquid flare apparatus to create a combustible flow, and a test fluid is injected into the gas-liquid flare apparatus such that the test fluid is dispersed into the combustible flow. The combustible flow is combusted in in the gas-liquid flare apparatus, resulting in fallout of liquid droplets of the test fluid onto the plurality of tiles. Images of the liquid droplets on the plurality of tiles are analyzed so as to determine the information about liquid droplet fallout in the monitoring area, using a computer. The information about liquid droplet fallout may be used to estimate combustion inefficiency of the gas-liquid flare apparatus.
Method and device for eliminating thermal interference for infrared and video-based early fire detection
A process for the elimination of thermal interferences in the infrared and video fire detection at an early stage in waste incineration plants, recycling facilities, warehouses and the like. The process is characterized by an additional noise and vibration analysis, by measuring the noise level of vehicles situated in the area to be detected or other thermal interference sources, with a distinction in measuring the noise level between day mode and night mode. The volume thresholds can thus be determined and be used as a threshold for determining whether a fire extinguishing sequence should be triggered.
FLAME ANALYTICS SYSTEM
A flame analytics system that may incorporate a burner, one or more sensors at the burner, a historical database connected to the one or more sensors, a model training module connected to the historical database, and a runtime algorithm module connected to the one or more sensors and the model training module. The runtime algorithm may compare realtime data from the one or more sensors and historical data from the model training module in accordance with a machine learning algorithm. The system may further incorporate a fault detection module connected to the runtime algorithm module, a fault diagnostics module connected to the fault detection module, and an enunciator connected to the fault detection module. The one or more sensors may also include having video or acoustic sensitivity of combustion in the burner.
