DEVICE FOR FACIAL AND NECK MUSCLES STIMULATION
A device configured to exercise facial and neck muscles and related methods are provided. The device operates by applying static and/or dynamic external forces to the muscles of the modiolus area of the face and related ligaments. The device includes a pair of bars that may be connected by a rotatory connection or by an expandable horizontal connection, each having a proximal and distal end. The proximal end of each bar includes a modiolus holder. The modiolus holders are shaped to partially fit within the user's mouth, and when fit to the modiolus area by the separation of the bars, brings the modiolus holders in tight contact with the modiolus area. This movement secures the insertions of the muscles attached at the modiolus, allowing these muscles to be stretched, therefore creating resistance to their contractions.

ORAL CARE DEVICE ADAPTED TO REDUCE GAG REFLEX
Gag reflex when a mouthpiece of an oral care device contacts the posterior oral cavity is reduced by provision of a projection on the handpiece that contacts the user's skin in such a way that gag reflex is reduced or eliminated due to stimulation of nerves in the user's face. In an embodiment, the projection has a tip that contacts the user's face on or near the groove between the lower lip and the chin, exerting mechanical pressure, vibration, or electrical stimulation, which stimulates nerves to reduce the gag reflex.
DEVICE FOR EXERCISING ONES TONGUE
A tongue exercise device includes a mouthpiece, a depressor, a hinging means, and a restive element. The front portion of the bottom side of the mouthpiece is configured to fit over one's lower row of teeth, while the upper side of the depressor is configured to fit under one's tongue. The hinging means is configured to connect the rear portions of both the depressor's lower side and the mouthpiece's top side. The resistive element is configured to enable the depressor to apply a resistive force to one's tongue when one pushes down with the bottom of one's tongue on the top side of the depressor so as to force it down toward the mouthpiece's top surface.
APPARATUS FOR STRENGTHENING FACIAL BONES AND MUSCLE IN COSMETIC, STROKE, AND IDIOPATHIC FACIAL PARALYSIS PATIENTS AND METHODS OF USE
A facial exercise apparatus for facial muscle and bone resistance training and method of use. The facial exercise apparatus includes one or more flexor arms and a mouthpiece stabilizer, each connected to a flexor head connector. The flexor arm(s) extend upward, downward, left or right from the flexor head connector, have contours to place the patient's lips, and provide a resistance force outward from the flexor head connector. In use, a patient places and bites down upon the mouthpiece stabilizer, places a portion of their lips along a contoured portion of one or more of the flexor arms, and pushes their lips toward the center of the flexor head connector against the resistance of the flexor arm(s). When done at regular intervals and increasing resistances, the apparatus can strengthen a patient's facial muscles and bone and reduce the cosmetic appearance of wrinkles on their face.

Portable oral positive expiratory pressure-generating devices with variable expiratory airflow resistances
A positive expiratory pressure-generating device for reducing breathlessness in a subject with one or more pulmonary disorders is disclosed. The device is rigid and hollow and can be held in the mouth of the subject. The device has at least one air chamber, at least one opening in the portion of the device that is held in the mouth and at least one additional airflow orifice. The device is configured to increase expiratory resistance and can be supported by the mouth of the subject without the need for additional support by hands, another device or other means.
ORAL DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE USE THEREOF
An oral device includes an intraoral bolus simulator comprising an exterior surface and having an interior volume Tillable with a fluid. An extraoral user interface extends from the bolus simulator, and can be used to locate or position the intraoral bolus simulator. In various embodiments, the fluid may be a gas or a liquid, or combinations thereof. In other embodiments, an oral device includes an extraoral handle, a shield connected to the handle, a tether extending from the shield, and a bolus simulator connected to the tether.
THRESHOLD-LOAD TRAINER APPARATUS FOR MUSCLES OF THE TONGUE, THROAT AND UPPER RESPIRATORY PATHWAY AND METHODS FOR TREATMENT OF OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA AND OTHER DISORDERS
Devices and methods for training the tongue and other muscles of the throat and upper respiratory airway to alleviate symptoms of snoring and the Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) are provided. A threshold-load trainer, or similar device, having a biased tongue resistance pad is used for strengthening the muscles of the tongue to inhibit narrowing or obstruction of the upper respiratory airway, particularly during a state of relaxation or sleep. The threshold-load trainer embodiments of the subject invention can specifically target the genioglossus muscle under the tongue (the major tongue protruder) and other muscles of the throat and upper respiratory pathway, so as to improve the strengthen muscle tonus.
