Exercise machine carriage handle system
An exercise machine carriage handle system for providing handles for an exerciser to grasp with their hands thereby expanding the type of exercises that may be performed. The exercise machine carriage handle system generally includes a frame having a track, a carriage movably connected to the track, a bias member connected between the frame and the carriage, a first handle connected to the carriage near the first side, and a second handle connected to the carriage near the second side. The first handle and second handle are adapted for grasping with a first hand and a second hand respectively of a user during the performance of an exercise on the exercise machine.
Climbing exercise machine
An exercise machine creates a simulated continuous resisted climbing motion. The machine includes a floor- or ground-contacting base frame and two or more substantially vertically oriented uprights, wherein at least one upright is rigidly connected to the base frame. The machine further includes two handles and two foot pedals, each handle and each foot pedal being movably engaged with an upright for linear reciprocating motion along the upright. The handles and foot pedals are interconnected so that they move concurrently. An adjustable resistance mechanism may be operatively connected to the interconnection of the handles and foot pedals to provide adjustable resistance for the simulated continuous climbing motion.
Pedal assembly for exercise machine
A stationary exercise machine according to the present disclosure may include a frame, a crankshaft rotatably supported by the frame, first and second lower linkages, and first and second crank arms connected to opposite sides of the crankshaft such that rotation of either of the crank arms causes rotation of the crankshaft. The lower linkages may be operatively connected to the crankshaft and to a respective one of first and second pedals. Each of the lower linkages may include a reciprocating member operatively connecting one of the pedals with one of the crank arms. Each of the lower linkages may include an adjustable linkage connected between the reciprocating member and the respective crank arm, the adjustable linkage may vary a distance between an output end of the reciprocating member and an input end of the crank arm. Each of the pedals may be pivotally connected to the respective reciprocating members.
HOLISTIC TRAINING DEVICE
Holistic training device wherein a trainee user executes a training operation of sequential cycles of a first step of synchronized contraction of left limbs and extension of right limbs, followed by a second step of reverse synchronized contraction of right limbs and extension of left limbs thereof, comprising a frame (10) with shorter parallel beams (1,2), longer parallel beams (3,4) and a beam (5) extending intermedially inbetween beams (1,2) with plate extensions (31,41) receiving freely rotatable axles (53,54) at the sides thereof. Pulleys (56a,57a-56b,57b) are fixedly mounted at the ends of the axles (53,54) and pulleys (16a, 17a-16b, 17b) are mounted proximally to the ends of beams (1,2) with straps (36a,36b-37a,37b) freely rotatable around these pulleys, rails (33,34-43,44) being adapted to receive platforms (60) sliding thereupon, these platforms being activated through handgrip items (35a, 45a) gripped by the palms and foot hold items (35b, 45b) nesting the soles of the trainee user to implement the aforementioned sequential exercising cycles.
Adjustable reformer
An adjustable reformer for exercising is provided. The reformer includes a frame, a carriage slidably mounted to the horizontal frame, and at least one resistance element connected to the carriage. A cord connects the carriage to at least one lower guide and at least one upper guide. Pulling the cord causes movement of the carriage along the frame against resistance provided by the resistance element. The guides can be height adjustable. The reformer can include a cord retraction system. Related methods of exercise are also provided.
Fitness device and exercise method for generating opposing muscle resistance
A fitness device contains a strap, a handle, and a plate. The strap is substantially inelastic and flexible. The plate is substantially rigid. The handle at least partially envelopes the strap. A method of exercising with such a fitness device is also described herein. Other fitness devices and other methods of use are also described herein.
Exercise machine and cross trainer
The present invention is directed, in part, to a system and methods for combining newly designed cardiovascular equipment with the added features of an upper body weight training regimen in order to provide a user a full body workout, cardiovascular exercise and weight training simultaneously. The invention does so by employing either a weight tray apparatus configured to newly designed cardiovascular equipment or machine or through the use of an adjustable weight training apparatus combined with the newly designed cardiovascular equipment or machine. More specifically, the present invention relates to a system and methods for combining newly designed cardiovascular equipment including stationary and recumbent bikes, elliptical machines, treadmills and stair steppers, with a tray apparatus that allows a user to employ free weights. The invention further relates to a system and methods for combining newly designed cardiovascular equipment including stationary and recumbent bikes, elliptical machines, treadmills and stair steppers that are configured with an adjustable weight training apparatus that allows a user to build upper body muscle groups simultaneously with cardiovascular exercise, in effect, providing a full body workout.
Portable multi-exercise device
A portable multi-exercise device includes a pair of parallel tracks each being elongate and linear. The exercise device includes a pair of band attachment platforms positioned across the parallel tracks respectively proximate to ends of the parallel tracks, the band attachment platforms having at least two laterally spaced apart resistance band attachment structures and themselves being laterally positioned along the parallel tracks. Each band attachment platform may include a set of three spaced apart planks defining a slot therebetween in which band fasteners are positioned. The exercise device includes a pair of step platforms atop which a user stands when grasping resistance bands during exercise, the step platforms being laterally adjustable along the parallel tracks. The exercise device includes a rowing bar coupled to the pair of parallel tracks intermediate the band attachment platforms and having fasteners for attachment to the resistance bands.
EXERCISE DEVICE FOR USE WHILE SEATED
A muscle toning device, attached to a chair, underneath the sitting surface of the chair, comprising: an exercise resistance device storing an elastically extendable, elongate resistance element; a user handgrip means, the elongate resistance element being attached at its second distal end to the user handgrip means; at least one guide comprising a first bearing and guidance channel, for locating and guiding the elongate resistance element; characterised in that the muscle toning device further comprises at least one second bearing, about which the elongate resistance element turns, wherein the second bearing is laterally translatable, the laterally translatable bearing being anchored to the exercise resistance device by an elastically expandable attachment means, such that when a pulling force is applied to the elongate resistance element, the laterally translatable bearing is caused to move in the direction of said pulling force.
