A tubular combustion chamber system for a gas turbine unit includes a plurality of annularly arranged transition lines, which are designed to be connected at the upstream ends thereof to respective burners and to conduct hot gas produced by the burners to a turbine. The tubular combustion chamber system has a hot gas distributor, which is designed to be connected to the turbine and defines a ring channel, which is open to the turbine and into which the downstream ends of the transition lines lead. A gas turbine unit includes a plurality of annularly arranged burners, a turbine and a tubular combustion chamber system which connects the burners to the turbine.
Multi-direction hole for rail effusion
A heat shield panel for use in a gas turbine engine combustor is disclosed. In various embodiments, the heat shield panel includes a hot side, a cold side spaced from the hot side, a rail member disposed on the cold side proximate an outer perimeter, the rail member having an outer wall and an inner wall and an orifice extending through the rail member, from the inner wall to the outer wall, the orifice having an entrance portion having an entrance opening positioned on the inner wall and extending at least to an intermediate portion of the rail member and an exit portion having an exit opening positioned on the outer wall and extending at least to the intermediate portion of the rail member, the entrance portion of the orifice being angled relative to the exit portion of the orifice.
Nesting CMC components
A component for a gas turbine engine includes a body that has a first circumferential side and a second circumferential side. A circumferentially extending passage extends from the first circumferential side to the second circumferential side. The first circumferential side has an outer height that is less than an inner height of the second circumferential side.
RESONATOR, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SUCH A RESONATOR, AND COMBUSTOR ARRANGEMENT EQUIPPED WITH SUCH A RESONATOR
An annular resonator with a multiplicity of perforations for installation into a combustor arrangement of a static gas turbine installation, wherein the resonator is produced from refractory ceramic. A combustor arrangement for a gas turbine installation with a combustor unit, has a combustor, with a transfer line, which is arranged downstream of the combustor unit and which is designed to conduct hot gas generated by the combustor to a turbine, and with at least one resonator.
CERAMIC COMPONENT
A ceramic matrix composite includes a plurality of ceramic fibers and an interface coating disposed on the plurality of ceramic fibers. The interface coating includes a carbon-based layer disposed on each ceramic fiber of the plurality of ceramic fibers and a boron-nitride based layer disposed on the first carbon-based layer. The ceramic matrix composite also includes a ceramic matrix surrounding the plurality of ceramic fibers. A ceramic matrix composite and a method of forming a ceramic matrix composite component are also disclosed.
CERAMIC COMPONENT
A ceramic matrix composite includes at least one ply of ceramic fibers and a a ceramic matrix material deposited on the ceramic fibers. A fiber volume fraction is between about 35-45% and an areal weight fibers is between about 150-450 g/m2. A method of fabricating a ceramic matrix composite component is also disclosed.
METHOD TO FABRICATE A MACHINABLE CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE
A method to form a machinable ceramic matrix composite comprises forming a porous ceramic multilayer on a surface of a fiber preform. In one example, the porous ceramic multilayer comprises a gradient in porosity in a direction normal to the surface. In another example, the porous ceramic multilayer includes low-wettability particles having a high contact angle with molten silicon, where an amount of the low-wettability particles in the porous ceramic multilayer varies in a direction normal to the surface. After forming the porous ceramic multilayer, the fiber preform is infiltrated with a melt, and the melt is cooled to form a ceramic matrix composite with a surface coating thereon. An outer portion of the surface coating is more readily machinable than an inner portion of the surface coating. The outer portion of the surface coating is machined to form a ceramic matrix composite having a machined surface with a predetermined surface finish and/or dimensional tolerance.
Combustor for a gas turbine engine with ceramic matrix composite heat shield
A combustor adapted for use in a gas turbine engine a combustor shell, a heat shield, and a heat shield retainer. The combustor shell is made from metallic materials and is formed to define an internal cavity. The heat shield is formed from ceramic matrix composite materials and is coupled to the dome panel. The heat shield retainer is configured to retain the heat shield to the combustor shell.
One-piece combustion chamber
A combustion chamber for a gas turbomachine. The combustion chamber comprising inner and outer walls, a chamber bottom, and a heat shield arranged downstream of the chamber bottom, to protect it thermally. The inner and outer walls and the heat shield form a one-piece unit.
