Combustor and gas turbine including the combustor
The upstream-side wall portion 54 includes, in the circumferential direction thereof, a first region 31 where air inlets 30 are formed at a lower density, and a second region 32 which is disposed at a position offset from the first region 31 in the circumferential direction, and in which the air inlets 30 are formed at a higher density than in the first region 31.
Combustor with dilution openings
A gas turbine engine including a compressor section and a combustion section in serial flow arrangement along an engine centerline, the combustion section having a combustor liner, a dome wall coupled to the combustor liner, and a dome inlet located in the dome wall, a fuel injector fluidly coupled to the dome inlet, a combustion chamber fluidly coupled to the fuel injector and defined at least in part by the combustor liner and the dome wall, and at least one set of dilution openings located in the dome wall and fluidly coupled to the combustion chamber.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COMBUSTION OF NON-GASEOUS FUELS AND DERIVATIVES THEREOF
The present disclosure relates to apparatuses and methods that are useful for one or more aspects of a power production plant. More particularly, the disclosure relates to combustor apparatuses and methods for a combustor adapted to utilize different fuel mixtures derived from gasification of a solid fuel. Combustion of the different fuel mixtures within the combustor can be facilitated by arranging elements of the combustor controlled so that a defined set of combustion characteristics remains substantially constant across a range of different fuel mixtures.
Main mixer in an axial staged combustor for a gas turbine engine
A main mixer including a swirler along an axis, the swirler including an outer swirler with a multiple of outer vanes, and a center swirler with a multiple of center vanes and a swirler hub along the axis, the swirler hub including a fuel manifold and an inner swirler with a multiple of inner vanes that support a centerbody, the multiple of inner vanes interconnect the fuel manifold and the centerbody.
HOLLOW PLANK DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION FOR COMBUSTOR LINER
A combustor includes an inner liner and an outer liner defining a combustion chamber. The inner liner includes an inner mesh structure, and a plurality of inner planks mounted to the inner mesh structure. The outer liner includes an outer mesh structure, and a plurality of outer planks mounted to the outer mesh structure. Each of the plurality of inner planks and outer planks includes an inner wall, an outer wall, and lateral walls defining a cavity to allow circulation of airflow within the cavity to cool down the inner wall.
Impingement plate with cooling tubes and related insert for impingement plate
An insert for an impingement plate and an impingement plate including the insert are disclosed. The impingement plate includes a plurality of cooling holes therein. The insert includes a body including an opening extending longitudinally therethrough. The body also includes a discharge end configured for positioning in an impingement air plenum between the impingement plate and an upstream surface of a combustor cap plate; a flexible insertion end configured for insertion into a respective cooling hole of the plurality of cooling holes; and a fixation element between the discharge end and the flexible insertion end. The fixation element has an outer dimension configured to fixedly couple the body in the respective cooling hole.
Configuring and positioning air passage holes in a combustion chamber wall
The provision of air passage holes through a wall of a gas turbomachine combustion chamber. Multi-perforations are virtually positioned and distributed, even in a first safety zone without air passage openings. Multi-perforations with a virtual inlet or outlet in this first security zone are virtually removed. According to certain criteria, at least some of said removed multi-perforations are then virtually reintegrated, and, from then on a perimeter passing through the virtual inlets and outlets of all the multi-perforations present is defined, in the direction of a primary or dilution hole to be installed, a modified safety zone is defined, then, respecting around said hole and with the freedom to reposition it within this limit, the shape of this hole is redefined.
Cooling hole with shaped meter
A gas turbine engine component having a cooling passage includes a first wall defining an inlet of the cooling passage, a second wall generally opposite the first wall and defining an outlet of the cooling passage, a metering section extending downstream from the inlet, and a diffusing section extending from the metering section to the outlet. The metering section includes an upstream side and a downstream side generally opposite the upstream side. At least one of the upstream and downstream sides includes a first passage wall and a second passage wall where the first and second passage walls intersect to form a V-shape.
